Dvb "the box" is not showing all channels

You might try this.
Go to the Scan for More Channels option in TV Signal Setup.
First delete all the channels shown and then do a rescan.
This worked for me when my cable company switched to all digital.
For some reason WMC picked up the old channel map on the existing
channels and I could not tune them even though they showed in the guide.

It is possible that the built in DVB tuner of your DVD recorder has failed, since your TV still has its DVB receiver working fine. I suppose if you have tried to reset the recorder numerous times, and it still has not found any DVB channels, then yes, the DVB tuner has died - probably not economical to replace that as a separate component, since it is hard-soldered to the motherboard, making the overall replacement cost-prohibitive.

But if you want to do so, you can submit your recorder to any authorised DVD service centre for a quote, as well as a detailed description of the problem(s) (assuming the tuner is found to be the culprit); this will help you to make an informed decision as to whether to go ahead with the repair or not. Up to you.

Presuming your unit works otherwise, you should not need a new one (but an external set top box connected via the recorder's inputs may be required if you need to record channels) - but get a couple of quotes from service centres FIRST before doing anything else ((you can always say no to the quotes if they are too high).

When you are searching for channels check what setting the channel search is in this model had DVB-T DVB-C and DVB-T2, If it is in the wrong search mode it will not find the channels. Also does your sky decoder use a dish? if yes then this could also be the issue as the TV uses Terrestrial signals and the SKY decoder will use a Satellite System.

I think you most likely have a failed box problem.

I have a LG tv set. When i press the tv/av button on the remote my tv shows av1, av2 earlier but now it is showing only av. So i am unable to watch my dvd player. Need help.

when you go into the menu and the nagravision screen is the EMU set to ON ?

its not your TV its your free view box telling you its found more channels. DVB means 'digital video broadcast.' go into menu and select search or update channel list
