Read the instruction manual and see how to operate.
if the timer is for to sleep, the problem will be the IC associates with him, you must see the block diagram and w.diagram. and tracking the signal.
go to www. retrevo.com and download the diagram. God bless you
SOURCE: telivision dont want to power up.
You are experiencing the Mitsubishi Green Blinking Light of Death which is fixable.
All you need to do is replace the four 1000uF/16 volt power supply capacitors in the "DM module"
(one of the two onboard microprocessors) which are inadequate for this tv. These capacitors are
apparently undersized, in that they will eventually fail (usually after
about 3 years) if and inevitably when there are voltage fluctuations in
the circuit above 16 volts. It is then
recommended to install either 1000uF/25 volt or 1000uF/35 volt
capacitors as replacements, so that they will be more than ample to
handle any voltage spikes that will occur.
If you are good with soldering and know how to work with electronics then this will be an easy fix otherwise I suggest getting someone to replace the capacitors that knows how to deal with them without getting an electrical shock. You can get the capacitors at any electronics store such as Radio Shack.
Good luck and please let me know if you have any further questions.
thanks
SOURCE: Sony Wega 40" TV will not turn on, standby light blinks 6 times repeatedly
Hello,For model KV-40XBR800,
Pls check following area.
Low HV Shutdown:
On the D Board.
Check IC8004/pin 7 should be 7.4v.
Check IC8006/pin 2 should be 2.5v if lower will trigger shutdown by causing pin 1 to turn on.
Check IC8006/pin 3 reference voltage 2.2v.
IC8006/pin 1 normally at 0v. If high
turns D5007 ON which turns the latch circuit Q6532,
Q6530, and Q6527 ON and turns the AC relay RY6501 OFF.
And NOTE: 6 blinks also can be Low B+ protection.
Unregulated 7.5 v from the power supply to 5v reg IC504 on the A Board. 5v to M Board Q2314
to CPU IC2300/pin 43. If 5v missing set will shutdown with 6 blinks.
Good Luck

The blinking red light at the the front of the television is the "Diagnostic STANDBY/TIMER LED".
This little red light will blink 2, 4, or 5 times and then stay off for three-seconds. And blink again for 2, 4, or 5 times. This cycle repeats. The most common diagnostic code is the 4-blink code.
When the red LED blinks 4-times, it means one of two possible causes:
1) +13V is not supplied on the A-board. Or, 2) IC502 is faulty.
It is best to take this television set to a repair facility and ask that the +13V power supply be repaired.
The copper tracks and integrated circuit pads are very thin and delicate on the KV-24FV12 circuit board, and will easily lift off of the circuit board, if the incorrect desoldering tool is used. Unless one has a good quality PACE vacuum desoldering unit, one should not attempt to repair the television.
SOURCE: TV turned off itself and timer light (red) keeps blinking
The TV is on protect mode.
Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.
Also
ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box
or dvd connected.
If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing
led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while,
that indicates a fault condition.
The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.
1The
internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic
charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read
by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the
protection circuit.
2 The protection circuit detected a wrong
voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in
, startingthe flashing light.
If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.
If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.
Common faults
that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a
convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.
Check also
the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you
can get same flashing state because of the video cable.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual
If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.
