Hi, I have a Samsung TX-P3064W which has started to have a problem with the picture. The picture color changes on its own, getting darker when there are darker colors on the screen and then lightening up when lighter colors are on the screen. When you're watching it it looks like someone is playing with the contrast. Ever heard of this? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php Any buzzing, humming,or high pitch sounds? If you do it could be an issue with the color wheel. The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms. The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will get color distortion ,black and white picture and sometimes you will hear humming noises.
If you can disable the blue screen via the tv menu you might see something happening behind that blue ,you might be able to figure it out from there, also try to connect as directly as possible (tv/computer) even if you have to physically move one or the other, that way you can eliminate possible problems. good luck
This sounds like you have the contrast setting too high, go to your menu and find the contrast settings, and adjust to your requirement. As for the words being blurry, this could be because your tv is HD ready, and unless you view a High Definition channel then the picture will be a liitle blurred.
Hope this is of some help?
