Okay, so I import a CD into itunes, and go to drag and drop it into the shuffle folder, but the thing is, it won't drop into the folder. It works if I've downloaded the music from the internet, but not if I take it from a CD. I've reset it several times, and it doens't help. Does anyone know why it is doing this or how I can fix it?

One thing to remember is to make the songs mp3. Edit --> Preferences --> Advanced (tab) --> Importing (tab). Under Import Using make sure 'MP3 Encoder' is selected. If the music is already in your libary click click a song and click 'convert selection to mp3'. If the music is not in your libary simply import it and it will automaticly be in mp3 format.

one easy way. Download windows media player for free at microsoft.com. Place your music cd in your drive and ripped the cd and drag the music files from your music folder( in my documents) to your ipod folder
download itunes from www.apple.com/itunes
the connect your ipod to system and transfer music onto it using itunes sync...you'll know the steps yourself once you download and install itunes...
plug it in, then use itunes to restore your ipod to factory settings. Update it then when you want to put music onto the device drag the music over onto yout playlist/music folder for your ipod, click and drag the song you want to your ipod, do not release your mouse button until you see the +copy appear.
You need to download iTunes and create a library. Once you have iTunes installed...follow these steps.
Add music to your hard drive by inserting CD's into your computer. When you put in a CD it may ask you to import the music into your library, or you may have to click the button on the lower right that says import music. iTunes generally finds the song titles and CD name by itself, but if the CD is obscure or a local band you may have to type it yourself.
iTunes will automatically add the music you took from the CD to your library.
You can also add music you may already have on your computer by going to File> Add file to library or File> Add folder to library. Once you have added all of the music you want to put on the shuffle, go to step 4.
You can now plug in your iPod. iTunes should recognize the iPod pretty quickly. You will see it under a tab on the left called devices. Once it finds the iPod, you should be able to select music from your library and drag it directly to the Shuffle.
You can click on the iPod's icon in the left side column and do several different things. But mainly I would just use it to see how much space you have left for your music.
It's as easy as that! Comment on this post if you need more help.
Do you have iTunes installed?? you have to rip the CD to iTunes and
then you can sync them to your iPod shuffle. You can get instructions
via the manual. iPod Shuffle Manual. If you want to put music into the iTunes library that you already have on your PC, just go to 'File', then 'Add folder to library' and it will scan that folder and every sub-folder and put the music in the library. Be careful if your songs don't have ID3 tags otherwise iTunes won't be able to work out what they are and your songs will not be catagorized well at all.
