Re: Dismantle Acer travelmate 270 Laptop
Caution is advised, as getting everything to work again after you put it back together is normally difficult, especially the screen.
You will have to remove all the panels underneath, all screws and look for screws around the screen hinge area, with hexagon heads.
There are no instructions on acer notebooks on their site for obvious reasons.

The solider tends to loseen up on the power connection.Make sure all screws are removed some are under the covers on bottom of laptop slightly pry the top up where ever it seems to be holding look for a screw underneath where its holding.if all screws are out it should come off fairly easy.
I have a schematic but it doesn't show a separate power board (although Acer does make alot of revisions). Look under the battery or under the CD tray for those hard to find screws. Acer likes to put sticky plastic circles over screws to hide them. Now unless *********** board is fried to a crisp don't replace the whole board just to fix a power connector. My company repairs these all the time for $50.00 labor + parts.
I had the same problem and it was my battery - i would strongly suggest getting a new one, doesnt need to be an ACer - it could even be a generic one- just as effective.Try www.cellphoneshop.net, they sell cheap batteries.
