My picture has a Green tinge. If we leave it in the blank ant type screen mode - eg no channel then their is a purple ring around the edge of the screen. The TV was fine until we connected a freeview box to check coverage (we don't have coverag) and now that we have returned everything to normal the TV has stayed in this state. It has not been next to a magnet or has not been dropped. We have checked all scart connections which seem to be fine. Help!

I had this problem, too. But then I turned it on, hit menu, channel down, and it started working again.

Since the set turns off, I would assume it's not a hook up problem. The problem is either a bad picture tube or a bad video output amplifier. Either one is a little pricey. I just Googled this set and the cost of repair would excede the replacement cost. Hope this helps.

It sounds that the IIC Bus circuit shorts bey some faulty components connected to it. The troubleshooting work to this section circuit is very skilled one. If you are not familiar with electronics, do not attempt to repair. Whether you suffer fatal electrical shock! Instead, contact the nearest service center.

The picture will go black and the sound will go out. At the same time, the green power inicator will flash. Then the picture and sound will come back on for several seconds and then it will go out again....

My TV had the same problem. I called Sony yesterday and they told me to reset the TV. I did so yesterday, and it seemed to work. Here is the transcript with instructions:
Please turn ON the TV. While holding down the RESET button on the Remote control, press the POWER button on the TV. The TV will turn itself OFF, then back ON again. Release the RESET button. The TV will go thru the initial setup, and should work normal.
