Try switching it on but it goes straight back to standby
I just got off the phone with Toshiba. If the standard response of "remove all plugs & cables for 24 hours" doesn't work, it's likely that the TV is in a firmware update check cycle. To resolve, find the 'Receiver upgrade' menu item (start at 'DTV/USB'), find the 'Auto scan' menu item and, when that's highlighted, hit 'Left arrow' on the remote. That should switch it from 'Enabled' to 'Disabled'
Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.
