I backpack and carry my gear for miles, I use a Eureka that weighs under 3 pounds and also have a Sierra Design that is 4 pounds, both are 2 person tents, and have proven tuff thru all season weather, I advise a four season tent.
A tent needs to be heavy enough to be well built a durable in use. Some tents weigh 4-5 pounds, others weigh 40-50 pounds.
How heavy a tent you should buy depends on what you want to use it for.
Most of the tents can be installed on all types of surfaces
including grass, decks, concrete, etc.
for example if you locate your tent on a concrete surface you will need
to secure you tent with heavy affixes in most cases water barrels so you'll
need to have a nearby water source, the affixes varies from each different
surface so you should look into what's the best option for your surface.
Large capacity canvas tents fully equipped with accessories
could weigh up to 60 pounds. Middle capacity single or double room tents with
accessories weigh in the range of 17 to 35 pounds and a couple's tent weighs
around 5-6 pounds.
