Look for any loose contacts in RC jacks/sockets/Cable. Check your power outlet for any loose contacts. Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

SOURCE: I recently changed from Cable to Direct Tv

When you switched from cable to Direct TV you went from a direct connection to having a box in the middle. The box is required to to decode the signal. There is nothing wrong with the tv, you just may not have the best signal.

SOURCE: when using remote to adjust sound or to change

This may be because of your personal preferences settings for channels. Try to adjust the personal preferences of each channel according to your wish. Most remotes have the options to set personal preferences.

SOunds shut "off" when changing from HD channel to non-HD channel.

I think you need to look at the sound settings. In particular the type of sound. HD channels often carry AAC sound, suitable for Dolby 5.1 and Standard Channels don't. So the sound system will switch modes when you change channels. However the receiver is not switching back to picking up PCM signals, the type used on SD channels.

Surround Sound System Settings ---- Correct Time Delay Setting in Multi-channel Audio

A correctly set surround sound system can yield dramatic improvements to your
home theater sound or multi-channel music listening experience. In particular,
a correctly set time delay setting between the different channels is essential
for a realistic and unified surround soundfield.
Luckily, most of today's surround processors make setting the time delays
between the rear and the fronts a matter of a few entries in the setup menu.
Yet having a proper understanding of the principles behind correct time delay
settings is essential for the best results.
In this guide, we explain the principles behind time delay settings in surround
sound and show you how to adjust your surround processor or AV receiver for the
best surround sound field.

Time Delay Setting in Multi-channel Surround Sound Systems

Correct home theater speaker placement and properly balanced sound levels
between the different channels in multi-channel audio, while crucial, are not
enough to sustain a unified soundfield in a surround sound setup. A correctly
set surround sound system requires that sound from all the different speakers
reach the listener at exactly the same instant.
This explains why all fronts, left, right and center channel speakers, should
be set at exactly the same distance from the listening position. At the same
time, in a typical home theater setup, the surround speakers are closer to the
viewer than the fronts.

To compensate for this distance discrepancy, surround sound playback systems
apply a split-second delay to the surround sound channels.

Dish network changed to snow when I tried to change station to channel 13. I pressed "power" for 5 seconds with no change.

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service here. It sounds like when you try to change channels with your remote, it is changing the channels on your TV and not your Satellite Receiver. In the top left corner of the Dish Network remote is an SAT button. When you try to change channels on the Satellite receiver this button should be lighting up. If the TV button lights up, it means the remote is working the TV. Press and release the "SAT" button after you have the picture back on the TV and it should work normally. I hope this resolves your remote issue!

Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U 42in hdtv lcd How do I get the channels to change faster? It's like a delay compared to my other hdtv

There is a 3-5 second delay between the channels when you change them on these particular tvs and there is no way to change that unfortunately.

I bought a 32" Dynex and I am running coax from the wall to the tv, did the scan and when i change the channel the pic only last for a few seconds then goes to snow

Sounds like a bad tuner, replace the tuner that just may fix it. Either that or the power supply, is failing to supply the correct tuning voltage, and/or the tuner voltage..

I have a JVC C252 and I don't get channels 2 thru 48. Channels 49 and higher work fine. When I go to channel 2, for example, the screen goes to ''snow'' for about 2 seconds and then goes to blue.

The tuner of the TV is likely bad. Try hooking up a vcr (if available ) and changing channels with it (using video inputs on tv if available).
If you can confirm that the cable is good (by trying another tv) then the problem is with the tuner of the TV- get estimate from repair shop.

Channel stuck problem

Hi,
How long does it take (in seconds) before it changes teh channel? Because some TV's, if you have more than 10 channels, have to wait before they change because you might want to change to a higher channel Example:
suppose your TV has 99 channels but your remote has only buttons from 0 to 9. So if you want to switch to channel 7 the TV waits a little before it actually switch to 7 because there might come another nuber after the 7 as the TV doesnot know what channel you wants. 2 to 3 seconds should be the maximum delay.
If it takes more time, check if this can be changed in the menu, often there is a delay possibility in the setup menu.
If teh delay is over 4 seconds and you still have warranty on it, just return it to the vendor.
