Question about Acer Aspire 3000 Notebook
I have an Acer Aspire 5520 laptop, 2 months old. Laptop was opened and a 1 in. rubber bouncy ball was thrown against a wall and bounce back and hit the screen. Appears the LCD is cracked. Had lines going through the screen and a definite mark of colors where the ball hit. I have found a new screen on ebay. Question: Is it easy enough for me to change it out? and how?

This is not a solution however I have the exact same issue. did you manage to get it fixed and what did it take to fix it?

The first two solutions I agree with. However, I mostly believe that the cable connection from the motherboard to the circuit board for the screen is loose or may need to be cleaned or replaced. It's a very delicate procedure removing the screen to fix this problem so its best you take it to a repair shop.

Sandrew is right. It should be a good thing to go to a service center to have your laptop examined. Inside the display area there is a small circuit board that is the display's controller. This is connected to the mainboard by a set of wires. Probably the connector to the display's controller got out of place and needs to be reconnected properly. This isn't an expensive repair and it's better to let the service centers have a look. It's the safest way. However if you need instructions on dissasembling your display I will provide them if you ask. Good luck.

There is not much you can really do to rectify a screen problem, but there are four little black blanks in the corners of the screen, remove and see if any tightening or loosening of the screws alter it. Caution applies as the wireless receiver is built in the screen and can get damaged and that may also be causing the interference.
