Question about Danby DDR583R Dehumidifier

1 Answer

No drying! I just bought the 58 pint model, and when I have it in DRY mode it does not dehumidify. Only the fan works. I had another one sent to me and it does the exact same thing! I have tried everything. Setting the RH to continuous, setting it to 40%, you name it. My room has single paned windows, and a bathroom with no ventilation, so I know there is plenty of moisture for it to work with. Can anyone help before I jsut send both units back for a full refund?

I don't know what the settings should be to make the dehumidifier dry the room.

I just got the same model via mail order, and it isn't drying either. I'm going to give it another day before I send it back and buy some other junk product locally that is easier to return.

Why does blower wheel stop on Frigidaire dehumdifier?

Good Afternoon Desi,

I understand that the blower wheel is not spinning on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD504DUD. I also see that the compressor will stay on unless the dehumidifier is unplugged. I suggest you contact the manufacturer for further assistance. They can possibly clarify why the compressor stays on and why the blower fan is not working. If not, they should at least be able to point you in the right direction of having your dehumidifier working. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Dehumidifier automatic on and off function not working

Unless you live in a dry environment or place the unit in a hermetically sealed room, it probably will not turn off. As the air dries within the room, more moisture comes in with the air. As long as the air outside of the room is more humid than the room this will be true.
