MY KENWOOD DDX8017 SAYS DISCONNECTED CABLE FOUND-PLEASE CONFIRM A CONNECTION LINE. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

just had the same problem. it turned to be the large black cable that goes from the control box to the head unit. hope that helps.

NEED MORE INFO DO YOU HAVE AN IPOD CABLE ATTACHED OR A SATELLITE RADIO ATTACHED HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM WHEN CABLES FOR THESE OTHER COMPONENTS ARE THERE BUT NOT THE DEVICE ITSELF. LET ME KNOW WHAT ALL IS ATTACHED.

The unit needs a hide-away brain connected via the big black data cable to make it work to work. Because all your speaker outputs and connections is through the brain. If you don't have the brain, data cable connection is loose or a mal-function hide-away brain then you will get that message on the black screen only. You can buy the brain on eBay or search it up on google if you need one. Hope this will help.

Same thing happened to me on 1 that I installed. There is a long molex cable on back of the head unit that goes to a tunr/amplifiwe usually mounted under the seat. This is the ontroll brain. It is either non existant, or you need to plug it back in behind the stereo. Mine was the same way,mounted in a Ford Escape, it somehow vibrated out! Go figure. Hopefully this silves it. Let me know.
