I have loaded the software and everything is connected and looks like it is ready to run but I cannot print from any programs. I get the following message. "There was a problem printing. Check the properties for your printer."
I have two computers and the properties are the same. The only difference is the computer that the printer works on runs on microsoft XP, and my computer I am trying to run it on runs Windows Vista Home Basic
You will have to use the New Dell 922 VISTA drivers and not the XP drivers in order for it to work with your Vista Loaded PC. The new drivers for the 922 under Vista are available for download at Dells website. Check out this link http://support.euro.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/emea/shared/support/dsn/en/document?c=ed&docid=314972&l=en&s=bsd
Hope this helps.

You need to go to Control Panel add/remove programs and remove all Printer programs. Then disconnect the USB cable, install the printer software until a message comes up that says plug in your printer. If no message comes up, complete the software installation and then plug in the USB cable. The computer should find the printer at this time.
Hi there,
" Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
" Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
" restart the computer
" Click here and slecet the operating system and download the drive
"
" after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
" then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.
Do a reset: Dell Printer reset 1.With the power on,unplug the power cord from the wall socket. 2.Disconnect the power supply from the back of the printer. 3.Wait 15 seconds. 4.Reconnect the power supply to the back of the printer. Plug the power cord back into the wall socket.
Dell Printers To run a nozzle clean, perform the following steps: 1.Verify the All-In-One Printer 922 is powered on and connected to a computer. 2.Verify that the paper support (input tray) has clean, plain white paper loaded. 3.Press the Menu button. 4.Press the Down button until Mode: Maintenance appears on the LCD screen. 5.Press the Menu button. The Dell 922 Maintenance Menu appears on the LCD screen. 6.Press the Down button until Clean Cartridges appears on the LCD screen. 7.Press the Start button. The AIO 922 prints the cleaning page. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
1. If it prints the alignment page, sometimes you have to put the page back on the scanner glass and hit continue or start on the printer for it to scan back in the alignment page to complete the alignment process
2. If thtat's not it, try going to add/remove programs in control panel and uninstall all dell pritner software, then reinstall using the link below:

Could have a corrupt driver. Disconnect
the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do
both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer
to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
My dell photo aio 922 says there a communication problem and i try to print i do everything it tells me to do for exaple recconect the usb restart computer and try and take the printer plug out but still i am haveing the same problem
what operating system are you using? if you have windows vista then go to the dell site, download the patch under the windows vista drivers. run the patch, it will remove all traces of the software then download the latest vista driver form the dell site and install it. if that doesnt work then try this.
1. Download the latest Vista driver. 2. Disconnect the PC from the network/Internet 3. Delete the printer 4. Disconnect the printer from the PC 5. Uninstall the software from Device Manager (you have to choose view, show hidden devices). Right click on the printer and choose uninstall. 6. Uninstall the software from the program group or the control panel. 7. Reboot 8. Delete everything in C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\ 9. Install the Vista Driver reconnecting the printer when the driver install calls for it.
Lots of luck. I couldn't even get the printer to load the software or install the hardware. I was helped by Dell's tech support (Dell has one of the best tech support programs that exists, in my opinion) for at least 4 hours without any good results. They sent me a replacement for a replacement and I finally got the printer and the software to show by installing it differently. Now it will not print, and, like you, the light to the power button blinks all the time and the printer states that there is no color cartridge installed, even though I have re-installed the new trial cartridge sent by Dell several times. I am going to purchase a new Canon Printer.
it's unusual to have same problem if completely uninstalled printer(removing printer, then uninstalling, after which use printer installation cd then re connect printer when prompted).
If you have a spare usb port install software then connect printer to a different usb port.
Lastly try; go to printers and faxes folder>right click on printer icon>properties>advanced, then click the radio button 'Print Directly to the Printer' and see if it prints.
Also make sure this printer is set to default printer
Try an updated driver, if any, from the Lexmark web site, as they are the same printer without the Dell logo.

yes I have the same problem
