I have a 1gb memory card in my 3230 and most write-ups on the web say that the sound recorder for a 3230 will record fpr up to an hour with enough memory. Mine won't. It stops fatre just one minute.
Is there any way to change this?

The sound file has used all available space on the memory card. Either put in a different card or purge the sound file(s) on the card so you can record new files.
try using the windows sound recorder in the accessories menu in the all programs menu in start menu if you are able to record sound on that it means that your mic is fine but the game or software your are using to communicate to your friends doesnt have it selected if the windows recorder doesnt work with your mic then either the mic is broken or it is not set as the default sound recorder in windows sound settings
That's because it's not there. Windows does not install this icon. If you want it, click on "Start" (lower left corner of your screen), then select "programs", then "accessories", then "entertainment" then right click on "sound recorder" and chose "send to desktop". You will then have an icon for the sound recorder.
Recording a phone conversation without the knowledge and consent of both parties is generally illegal. The beep is there to let the other party that the conversation is being recorded.
Make sure you are plugged into the microphone jack on your computer. open up your windows sound recorder from Start - Program - Accesories - Entertainment. Hit the record button and play your guitar. You should see recorded sound wave in the middle of your sound recorder. If you do not see the recorded waves this might mean that your microphone is turned off. To turn it on just Double click on the little speaker icon on your taskbar at the bottom right of your screen. The volume control window will open. Click on options then properties. Next check the small round recording button. Now make sure the microphone box is checked then click ok. Now a window will open that will show your microphone recording level. Move the slider up about half way and make sure to check the small "Select" box near the bottom of the slider. Open up sound recorder and try to record again. If this does not work add a comment to this post. I have recorded my guitar on my PC many times using just the sound card that came with my computer. I am sure we can figure this out.
Wow I have an audigy card and a Olympus and never had that problem before.
Goto soundblaster.com and make sure the audigy drivers are updated. There is an update to the olympus software available on their website as well.
If the volume is up too high on your recorder when it is playing back, it may shut the speakers down as a safety precaution especially if your sound card has a limiter to it.
