How to print a copy of the receipt ?


Would appreciate if someone can help me with the following 2 issues:

(1) I have the Sharp XE-A302 cash register, how can I print a copy of the customer receipt ?

(2) I want to make it mandatory to tally up subtotals before my staff can press the Total key to open the til. That is, one can not simply press the total key to open the til unless a subtotal is produced first.

Hi.
It doesn't look like this model can do it. Copy receipts are usually not available on low end models as the memory is insufficient. You can take a journal reading while you are in a sale though. If you press the receipt button before you press a payment button, it should print the current sale. It just won't show how they paid. You can still print a normal receipt after the sale. If you want to track every sale and see where staff are going wrong, just print the whole journal out at the end of each day (I think it is 700 . X TL)

We just got a new xe-a102, we do not need to print receipts...how do you turn off that function?

To disable receipt printing:
  • Press the Rcpt/PO key in the OP X/Z position. This key toggles the receipt printing status ON andOFF.
  • To check the receipt printing status, turn the mode switch to the OP X/Z position or press the CL key in the REG mode.
  • When the function is in the OFF mode, the receipt off indicator “_” illuminates.
To issue a receipt when receipt ON/OFF function is set to OFF:
If your customer wants a receipt after you finalized a transaction with the receipt ON/OFF function in the OFF
mode, press the RCPT/PO key. This will produce a receipt. If more than 50 items were entered, the receipt will be
issued in a summary receipt format. Your register can also print a copy receipt when the receipt ON/OFF
function is in the “ON” status.

Change on/off receipt function to off

The following is the method to turn the receipt printing on/off:
Receipt ON/OFF function
You can disable receipt printing in the REG mode to save paper using the receipt ON/OFF function. To disable
receipt printing, press the Rkey in the OP X/Z position. This key toggles the receipt printing status ON and
OFF.
To check the receipt printing status, turn the mode switch to the OP X/Z position or press the lkey in the REG
mode. When the function is in the OFF mode, the receipt off indicator “_” illuminates.
The register will print reports regardless of the receipt state, so the paper roll must be installed.
To issue a receipt when receipt ON/OFF function is set to OFF:
If your customer wants a receipt after you finalized a transaction with the receipt ON/OFF function in the OFF
mode, press the Rkey. This will produce a receipt. If more than 50 items were entered, the receipt will be
issued in a summary receipt format. Your register can also print a copy receipt when the receipt ON/OFF
function is in the “ON” status.

Sharp xe-a302 keeps saying paper empty. Changed the paper and no function will work. Tried to restart and will not allow any function and will not print daily receipts

Hi.
You must press clear to remove an error from the display (including the paper empty error). Give it a try and see if it starts working.

Sharp electronic cash register XE-A203 - keeps printing receipt

I don't have this particular cash register, But I took a look at the manual and I recommend the following:

A. Turn the cash register off.

B. Unplug it.

C. Remove the batteries.

D. Wait at least five minutes.

E. Initialize the cash register. This procedure was copied from thwe manual:

In order to operate the cash register properly, you must initialize it before operating for the first time. Follow this
procedure.

1. Insert the manager (MA) key into the mode switch and turn it to the REG position.

2. Insert the plug of the AC power cord into the AC outlet. The buzzer will sound
three times.

IMPORTANT: This operation must be performed without batteries installed.

3.
The cash register has now been initialized. The register display will show
"0.00" and then “NO BATTERY”.

If the buzzer does not sound when the plug is inserted, the initialization has not been done
successfully. (This will occur when the voltage is high because you operated the cash register
before starting initialization.) Wait at least one minute after pulling out the plug and insert the plug
again.

Sharp cash register XE-A41s

Hi. turn key to OPX/Z mode. Press the receipt button. Turn back to REG mode. Now when you want to issue a receipt, press the receipt button.
