Wachine machine bangs when on spin cycle.

Currently have a GE GHDSR316H0WW washer. The problem I have is that when it's on a spin cycle, it bangs around like the load is not centered. Even when there is very little in there. When you lift the lid to check (and no nothing to the load) and the put the lid back down after it comes to a complete stop, it works fine. Any ideas??

Unless your top loader is set firmly on concrete and leveled to perfection, the force of a heavy wash load spinning in excess of 1000rpm will create a bit of vibration and noise.A firm footing is your best defense against to much movement.
Also due to the earlier movements during the spin cycle, the shocks that are used to dampen the spin cycle might have been broken or damaged.
If the problem persists inspite of proper levelling, please do check for the shocks or might have them replaced them for good.

Ge washer bangs while washing

Make sure it's level. That's step one. If it is, you may have a broken drum suspension spring. Or hopefully one that was never reattached after the motor was replaced. Unplug it and take the back panel off and take a look. You may be able to reattach it yourself and save a bunch of money. Good luck!

Have a GE washer that has small, medium, large, and super load size. It's a top loader. When machine starts wash cycle, it bangs on the cotton and permanent press setting?

Probably out of balance, if in the spin cycle. If not, a "bang" corresponding with agitator reverse, you may have a transmission problem. Override open lid off switch with a pencil or used toothbrush in the small hole upper left location just under lid when closed so you can see the agitator action. If so run it till it breaks. Then replace. Otherwise, call your friendly appliance repairman and ask for a repair estimate first. If it is an ageing machine consider repair cost versis a lightly used one or new.

Banging drum when spinning

if the drum in the washer klunks/bangs in ANY brand of washer when it is spinning, your load is off balance. stop the machine, re-distribute the wet clothes so that the weight is evenly distributed, then restar the spin. u may have to do this more than once if u did not evely distribute the weight. this is an easy one. just be sure to stop the spin soon as it starts banging. letting it bang thru an entire spin cycle could result in actual damage to the machine. some of the new machines auto shut off at an imbalance so u can correct the problem. think of spinning a top. u unevenly add weights to it then spin it again, it WILL wobble.

GE Profile - Loud knocking on spin cycle

Just random input, I apologize if this is of no help to you. I've only experienced this with my washer when clothes somehow get bunched up on one side of it.  The best I can tell you at the moment is to make sure there is relatively equal distribution of clothes around the "washer bucket thingy" if you hear the bang bang bang again.

Noise when ge washer put in spin mode

this could be one of two problems.

The first which is fairly cheap to repair would be to check the carbon brushes in the motor, they may need replacing, especially if your washing comes out wetter then it should.

The second is the bearings on the drum which is more expensive to replace and would need to be done by an engineer.
