To copy a DVD to laptop, you will need things below:

  • a DVD drive. If your laptop doesn't have a built-in DVD drive, you need to purchase an external DVD drive.
  • Enough space or another blank disc to store copy from your original DVD.
  • DVD copy software that is also able to decrypt protected DVD.
According to some research, here we will take Leawo DVD Copy as example to show to how to copy DVD.
Step 1: Download and install this software on your computer.
Step 2: Load source DVD content.

Step 3: Select content to copy. This software provides you 3 options to select different contents to copy DVD, including Full Movie mode, Main Movie mode and Custom Mode. After choosing contents, you can set disc format at the bottom left corner.

Step 4: Start to copy DVD. After clicking the Copy button, a window will pop-up to let you confirm output format and directory. After setting, click the Copy button again to start copying.

Goes straight to burn and doesen't copy

Which Program? There is a difference between Burn and Copy.

Copy means you have a CD or DvD that already has something on it such as a music CD or a movie DvD and you want to copy it. The system normally reads the CD or DvD and copies the contents to disk then asks you to put in a blank CD or DvD to make the copy.

Burn means you have Data Files, Documents or Music that is already on the disk drive and you want to put it on a Cd or DvD. Normally you just put in a blank CD or DvD then either Drop and Drag, Browse or Copy and Paste the files you want on the CD or DvD.

Was able to make copy but wont play on Dvd player

it might be an older DVD player that can't read computer-made discs, or it could be a disc incapability... Try in videohelp.com - where you can put in your TV's DVD model # and it will tell you which DVD formats it supports based soley on the users findings. Good luck!
