Question about Xerox Phaser 3130 Printer Laser
First check in windows device manager in case the device is not listed or has been disabled (right-click on my computer, click properties and then device manager) Go through the windows hardware troubleshooter and see if you get any joy here is the link to the manual if you need it; http://www.office.xerox.com/userdoc/P3130/pdfs/user.pdf.en and here is the link for driver downloads and updates; http://www.support.xerox.com/go/results.asp?Xtype=download&prodID=3130&Xlang=en_US&Xcntry=USA&source=XOG&prodName=Phaser%203130 I believe that updating/reinstalling your driver should solve the problem, if you get no luck in windows - often other software can interfere with driver files. If you have access to another machine, then try installing it on that using updated drivers and see if you have the same problem. On your machine, depending on the printer connection option you are using, try a different port and/or cable. DOS is not looking for problems in the same way that windows does, so you may find a minor connection issue is the problem. Page 114 of the manual suggests checking that bi-directional communication is turned on in the driver software - DOS would not require this to be on, but windows does. Page 131 - if you have the DOS remote control panel installed, try uninstalling this in case it is causing a clash, although none appear to have been reported. Hope this helps :)

Tips for a great answer:
1. Save your text file (.txt).
2. On the command prompt navigate to that directory
3.Type "Lpr -S 192.168.1.200 -P lp text.txt"
Substitute 192.168.1.200 for your copier's ip
Substitute text.txt to filename.
Or you can: to print from MS-DOS apps.
1. Share the printer on a networked windows computer. Make sure you make the name MS-DOS compatible.
2. At a DOS prompt, type the following command:
"net use lpt1: \\servername\printer_share/persistent:yes"
NOTE Servername=computer name
printer_share=printers share name
