Question about Vizio VOJ320F1A 32 in. LCD TV
Watching the Tv and all of a sudden the screen got blank, only audio was there. Turned the TV off. Next day try to turn on. The Vizio turn on light is on but nothing on the screen, no menus, no sound, its just black screen.
Check and replace the back light inverter board. Check CCFL lamps too.

If you are using a set top box this might be caused by turnig the box on at the same tie as you turn the tv on or slightly after you turn the tv on. If you are using compnent or HDMI inputs the set needs to see the signal as it is turned on to know what formt the signal is in.

Your TV mainboard is damaged and need to be replaced, the price should be around $80-190 and you can do it yourself.

SOURCE: Vizio GV42L 42inch LCD/HDTV
there are several possibilities. first if the unit comes on and the "VIZIO" light turns white, but no picture or sound, then the main control board is most likely the issue. could be the LCD control board(s) depending on model one or two. and ultimately could be the power supply on the upper side....if the "VIZIO" light does NOT turn white, the whole power supply unit is out. after that, would have to scope the circuits to find out. Seems that the control board is the most common and tends to happen on many different sizes. new board will be around $350.00. Might get lucky and find a used one, but it MUST be EXACT part or it wont work right. if you dont find one or want to sell yours for parts, id be interested in the screen. can reach me at [email protected] thanks, keith

I had a similar problem after having a Vizio for 2 and a half years. I
left the room for a minute, i came back and the screen went black. I didnt hear an arcing sound though.
There was still power to the unit and you could see that the back light
was working, just no picture, no sound, and you couldn't use any of the
buttons. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. It would then
start up, with the Vizio logo going from orange to white, and then do
the same thing all over, no pic or sound. I would check the ceramic fuse first on the board that gets power from the plug.
HOW I FIXED MINE: I ordered a new "main PCB" from tigerdirectparts.com (you can also use searspartsdirect.com). This is the circuit board with all of the inputs on it (hdmi, cable, etc.) I opened it up, disconnected the old one, put in a new one and now it works fine.I used both serial numbers on the board to search for it online. It cost me $144 to do it, but that's better than $450 for a new TV. My tv is the vx32l hdtv10a. I hope that helps.
