This is what my printer did when it kicked of the 14" plastic strip inside the printer(see posts referring to strip). Look inside for a loose, quarter inch wide and 14" long plastic strip with slots on the end. Let me know if you solve this.

Carrier jam lexmark x7170

It could be due to the cartridges or the encoder strip (transparent strip found behind the cartridge carrier) has gotten loose from its position. Please follow steps below to identify and fix the problem:
1. Open the printer cover and remove both the cartridges. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer/unplug the printer from the power source and then slide the carrier to the center.2. Check the encoder strip and make sure it is secured in its place.3. Close the printer cover.4. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.5. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.6. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.7. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new cartridge.8. If no error appears, try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
Let me know if this helps. Thanks.

Carrier jam on lexmark x5070 how do I fix it or clear it?

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix the problem:
  1. Open the printer cover to access the cartridge area. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.
  2. Remove both cartridges from the printer.
  3. Check the cartridge area and make sure encoder strip is not loose. The encoder strip is transparent strip located behind the cartridge carrier along with the carrier belt.
  4. If encoder strip is properly seated in the printer, close the printer cover.
  5. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, re-insert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors. The carrier jam could be due to one of the cartridges.
  7. If no error appears, re-insert the other cartridge.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear.
  9. If no error appears, try to print again to verify that the carrier jam issue is fixed.
We hope this information has been helpful.

Carrier jam

To fix the carrier jam, open the printer cover. Remove the cartridges from the carrier. While the cover is open, check inside for any loose transparent strip - the encoder strip. The encoder strip ensures the proper mechanism of the carrier on the assembly. If everything looks fine inside the printer, close the cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, re-insert the cartridges and make sure they are properly inserted and secured in the carrier.

I Got a dell printer and i don't know what to do and in the printer it says Clear Carrier Jam

Turn the printer on.
Lift the lid to expose the print-head mechanism.
The "carrier" is that part of the mechanism that moves the print-head across its range.
Something is physically blocking, or "jamming", that carrier.

Carrier jam

This strip is called the encoder strip. I found this fix online, which is very similar to the 5470.

The only difference you'll have is the encoder stip fits INSIDE the cartridge carrier. I'll attach a photo to show you where. Good luck!

Carrier jam on dell 924 printer??

I was able to fix this issue on my all-in-one 944 printer. What happened was that one of the ink cartridge lids had popped open. The hard part was that the carrier was stuck on the far left side, and I wasn't able to pull it over for easer access. However, I was able to fit a finger in and push the cartridge back down. Then when I turned the printer back on the error went away.

Hope this helps

Printer carrier jam

rub your finger across slider bar big silver rod that the ink carrier rides on if it feels dry turn power off then lubricate the slider bar with a lightwieght oil like clipper oil or 3 and 1 oil.
you apply a couple of drops to the top of this bar then turn power back on this should cure your problem

Dell 944 All-in-One Printer - printhead carrier jam

I just found that one of the little feeder rollers (??) on the roller bar has jumped out and is sitting (still attached by its spring) on top of the roller bar. I reckon that's curtains for the printer. Am I right or is it repairable?

Carrier jam

Hi, Open the Top cover so u can see the cart carrier. There should be a thin translucent tape. If its snapped out then ur printer is defective. If the tape is still present in the printer and attached from left to right, then make that strip pass "behined the cart carrier, in a small slit". Then u wont have cart carrier jam. If it still persists then printer is defective.
