Toshiba tp43h60 Ok i have a toshiba TP43H60.i turn it on and it gives that clicking sound meaning its turning on.as soon as its turn on their is no image and no sound but the red dot next to the buttons is just blinking.

Original price of this model was around $1700.

You are describing the MASTER SCREEN/ FOCUS CONTROL BLOCK---black with six controls--three are red, green and blue focus--the other three are screen controls--red, green and blue--- the screens are adjusted so with the color off you have normal brightness and a black and white picture--

They have nothing to do with any Convergence problem and unless they have been tampered with rarely need to be adjusted---

Have you tried to adjust in the customer menu or in the TECH menu? I can tell you how to get into the tech menu--if it will not adjust there you have a convergence circuit problem and I can tell you what is needed to repair the set.

This may sound odd but try moving the remote further from the set. I have seen similar issue with my 42H81.

if this is a old unit the there is serious problem with the display.

check how many times the light blinks and get back to us.

You have blown one of the pecos fuses, probably the f850 or f852, you can test them with the power unpluggrd and with an ohm meter. Replace them with only the recommended amps fuse. Your set is going into standby, because of the blown fuse.

I would suspect the convergence IC's, to confirm this unplug the convergence yoke, all three. If TV comes on IC's are bad. Also, check the little green pico fuses. Good Luck, big IRISH.

I have the same issue with my toshiba 32" circa 2000. I am told that it is a burned out diode of some sort and it is a horrendous repair job.
