More than likely its the power jack on the unit. Wasn't made to be plug and unplug too many time. If good with a soldering iron you can fix it yourself, You can do it.

Turn XM Roady2 'on' using the POWER switch. Go to MENU and go the FM Frequency. Select your frequency of an empty channel in your area, then turn off the Roady2 using the POWER switch. Do NOT do this by turning the car on and off as it tends not to save any settings when you do that. Always use the POWER button. Also, the website 'Radio-Locator' has a utility that will help you find an EMPTY FM channel in your are for your XM radio to use! Good luck and let me know how it works out for you- okay?
Hi and thank you for using FIXYA:
First check you need to let me know what kind of xm radio model you have??
then I will suggest you unplug your car battery for about a minute and then connect it back on to reset the radio to default values.
Let me know what radio is.
Thank You
Good Luck
There is an internal battery to hold the station and presets. It is probably no good. Either that or there is something very wrong with the unit.
Here is what I recommend. Call XM. Tell them your receiver is not longer functioning correctly and that you are thinking about canceling your service because you don't have a receiver. They will then offer you a receiver because they don't make much money on them, the make their money on the service.
Channel 210 is MLB Home Plate, which is part of the "Best of XM" package. If you haven't subscribed to Best of XM, which costs extra on top of your Sirius base subscription, then you cannot receive that channel.
Additionally, only certain radios are "Best of XM" compatible.. The fact that your car is a 2009 model.. While I don't know what radio it has in it.. I would assume it is a newer model radio that does have Best of XM capabilities, so the problem is most likely that you do not have the Best of XM package.
to reset the radio - it must be removed from the dash and unplugged.
Be sure to write down any anti-theft codes if your radio requires them.
However - since your radio is getting the 2 channels - it is working properly. The problem lies in XM turning on your account.
Be sure to get the correct # off the radio... sometimes there is a transposition error with paperwork.
The number can be gotten by setting your radio to channel 0. This is your radio ID# required to activate the radio.
Your Radio is working fine - call XM and stay on the line until they activate your account.
I have a suspicion the number was written down improperly.
Be sure when you call that the car is on, and that it is tuned to station #1... also - it can take 15-20 minutes to activate - and must be left on for the duration to catch the activation signal that is sent out.
Here are the steps from XM to activate manually-
Get Your XM Radio Activated Online Step1 Turn on your XM radio and tune it to channel 0. The display will read your XM radio's identification number. This number will include both letters and numbers. Write this number down and head to your computer.
Step2 Log onto the Internet and go to the XM radio website. A high speed connection to the Internet will make this go faster, but you can activate your XM radio online with dial up.
Step3 Click on the tab that says to activate a new XM radio. This will take you to a screen where you will enter your XM radio's identification number. Type this in.
Step4 Choose a screen name and password to make an account on the XM web site. The screen name should be something that you will easily remember. The password needs to be at least 7 characters long and include 1 capital letter, 1 lowercase letter, and 1 number.
Step5 Enter your personal information for the activation of your XM radio. This information will include your name, address, and email address. You will also need to choose which service plan you will want to purchase for your XM radio. Enter your credit card payment to finish purchasing your activation of your XM radio online.
Step6 Turn on your XM radio and tune it to channel 1. XM will send a signal out to your XM radio to activate it. You will need to leave the radio tuned to channel 1 for 15 to 20 minutes to activate it.
If you have additional questions or concerns - please ask me first before moving on to another expert.
Thanks for using FixYa!!
hi there..this will be like a walk in a park...first, in your home kit you should be having the ff: antenna, rca cable(audio cables), power adapter & docking station. We just have to 'placed the radio into the docking station' then we just have to plug in the ff cables into the xm receiver..we can start plugging in the rca cable(one ended connector) into the ' audio out ' of your xm radio...the other ends of the rca cables should be plug in into the 'audio in'(at the back/infront of your sound system)...plug in the antenna in the 'antenna out' of your xm( the antenna should be placed into a south facing window and not being block by tall trees and buildings outside)....plug in the power source and turn on the radio....if you got it right you should now be getting the prev.channels/emergency allerts...u can call xm to send a refresh for you to get the complete channels..or you can do it online by logging into www.refresh.xmradio.com(if the radio was already activated) if not, you have to call xm radio to activate it..enjoy listening to xm..Godbless..
hi there..there are few ways on installing xm into your car..you can use the FM Modulation that you're doing before..it goes like this...make sure that you're xm radio is turn off( with all the wirings unplug).....then, you just have to go on a blank channel(e.g 90.1) on your car radio...afterwhich, turn on your xm radio and go to MENU....and look for FM settings...and select the same frequency you have into your car radio...and just have to wait for 5 to 8 secs and you should be getting the prev. channels.....
IF: you're only getting prev. channels such as 1, 130 etc...you just have to call xm to send a refresh signal OR you can go to www.refresh.xmradio.com if you want to save more time...just type in your 8 digit radio I.D....
IF:
you're not getting the FM settings.....you just have to click the MENU and select the 'default settings/factory settings' then turn off/on your radio to save the changes...
i'm sure it'll work nowq at this time....Godbless!
1. Make sure your SKYFi2 is turned off. Unplug any accessory from SKYFi2’s audio jack. 2. Turn on an FM radio and place it close to your SKYFi2. 3. Note the frequency that has no FM station or the least amount of interference. 5. Turn on your SKYFi2. 6. Press the “menu” button. 7. Use the scroll wheel to select “FM Frequency.” Press the “XM” button to confirm. 8. Use the scroll wheel to select the frequency noted in step 4. Press the “XM” button to confirm. 9. Press the “menu” button to return to the main menu and then again to return to the play screen. 10. You should now hear XM programming over your FM radio. If the sound is not clear or you hear interference or static, try another frequency by repeating the process above.
