SOURCE: Kenmore electric range: oven & broiler will not work.

All your oven features are controlled by the Electronic Range Control (ERC) board. This is your clock/timer assembly. Unfortunately, most do not have fuses and are not serviceable. You will probably need to replace the board. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3727366-replacing_control_kitchen_range

Replacement circuit boards can be purchased on line at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop and compare. For the model number you have listed, the part number for a new board is 316207511.

NOTE: The overlay, which is the plastic template with the numbers and letters preprinted on it, does not come with the new board. It has to be purchased seperately. However, if the current overly is still in good shape, it can be peeled off the old circuit board and reused. The part number (if required) is 316220841.

If you have questions about this repair, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Hi, switch off the mains for the cooker, wait for about 15 seconds, switch it on (0:00 flashing) then press the 2 buttons on the left at the same time and hold them, and then press the - or + button to set the time.

SOURCE: My Kenmore oven won't work there is a PF 5AB error

The PF on your control indicates a power failure and should be removed by pressing the cancel button. The 5ab code indicates the range is in the SABBATH mode.

If a power failure occurs when the SABBATH mode is set, the oven will return to the OFF mode and will turn the power OFF to the oven.

To ENABLE SABBATH mode:

* Open the oven door
* Press STOP/CLEAR
* Press both the HOUR "UP" and "DOWN" arrow pad at the same time - and hold for 5 seconds.
SAB ON will disappear from the display.

To disable SABBATH mode: Repeat the steps above and SAB OFF will appear.

To set the SABBATH mode for use during the SABBATH/Holidays:
* Press BAKE
* Pres TEMP "UP" and "DOWN" Arrow pad to enter a different temperature other than 350 degrees. (Between 170F and 500F)
* Press COOK TIME
* Press HOUR/MIN "up" or "down" arrow to set cook time
* Press DELAY START to set a delayed cook time (optional)
* Press and hold TIMER OFF for 5 seconds
SAB will appear on the display indicating it is ready.
* Press START
* To STOP cooking - press STOP/CLEAR
* To exit the SABBATH mode and return to normal operation - press and hold TIMER OFF for 5 seconds.

My 2001 Kenmore oven error says ``E1 -F5-`` What does that mean

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error. The control has likely failed. Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets messed up.
You should disconnect power for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.
If it doesn't fix the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.Then turn off power again for 15 seconds and back on. Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

Our GE profile oven model JGsp31wet1ww oven will not heat up. When i set the oven to say 400 degrees, it just stays at 100 and never heats up. The broiler seems to work fine and the stove top gas burners...

pull out the racks and remove the bottom floor of the oven,turn it on bake,if the ignitor doesn't glow most likely it's bad,if it does glow and it doesn't ignite within 40 to 60 seconds the ignitor is bad.even though it glows doesn't mean it's good,it works by amps.it takes 3.2 amps.for a flat ignitor to open the gas valve and 2.5 amps for a round ignitor to open the gas valve.

My oven

If you don't mind me asking mschampaen, what's exactly happening. Do you have any small little lights on in the front of the oven around the control knobs? Or, a digital display readout somewhere on the oven? A light that goes on when you open the door? Something that indicates there's power getting to the oven. If not, check your circuit breaker in your house electrical panel. It should be a 2 pole, 50 amp. cir. brkr. To reset, turn the brkr. to the off position - then turn it back on. Then go back to your oven and open the door to see if the light comes on. I'm trying to rule out a power problem to your oven first. If this doesn't work, feel free to contact me again. Hopefully, this will do it. Good Luck to you! And let me know if this works for you, otherwise, we'll go to Plan B...:) - Jim

The power went out in the house. When the power came back on the oven would not work. The pre-heat red light keeps blinking

turn the oven off and disconnect the power to it for 10 minutes, then re connect it and try it again, see if it resets the system controls, if not the power surge that sometimes occurs when power returns has damaged your range, most utility companies will pay to have this type of electrical appliance fixed due to there power surge, contact them for a claim form in the event the oven doesn't start working after the power is reconnected.

Kenmore electric range won't work

Well I got it to work. All I did was unplug it and then plug it back in. Apparently it wasn't getting current from both of the 120v legs, just one of them. Re-plugging it made contact with both legs.
