Your stereo has 2 blue or 1 will b blue with white. One will supply power to a power antenna which will only have power on radio mode not cd do check wires with test light coming out of your head unit for the remote turn on and not power antenna

No sound, has power and all functions work, but no sound.

Ok this is whatb you need to do.1 are you using an external amp if you are you need to check the power at the amps b+ and turn-on leads.2If your speakers are getting ther power from the radios internall amplifier you will need to check your speakers and wires for shorts. This can be done by usuing a meter or by diconnecting the wires (speakers)one by one and see if your sound reeappears. The last step would be to put a test speaker on your speaker leads to verrify that the amp section in your radio has not been comprimised.

Why does my subs only work when the mode is on fm

sounds like you are using the antenna remote wire (blue) to turn the amp on. you need to use the amp remote wire(blue/white stripe). when you go to cd or any other function besides tuner power is shut off to the antenna remoter wire.

The woofer wont turn off

The only wires that should be going to the subs are the Speaker wire, The power, goes to the amp, Blue the remote wire should only go to the remote spot on the amp wich is usually labeled rem. and the ground all goes to the amp.

I can't find the wiring diagram for a bd216?

red goes to a power source that activates when ignition is on,yellow goes to a permanant power source that doesnt shut off like cigarette lighter power, black is ground,if thers orange its a dimmer wire it makes display dull when headlights turn on,u dont need to hook it up it will just keep your display bright at night without it.blue wire goes to your amp if u have one signaling it to turn on,blue with white is for a power antenna if you dont got one dont worry about it.as for sides im not sure about this but white and grey wires are for the front and green and purple wires are for the rear

My cd player will not work in 2005 my chrysler 300 the radio works but the cd player wont work whats wrong

Your chrysler 300 has a factory amplifier built in to the system. Seems you have connected the radios antenna turn on wire (usually solid blue) to the factory amp turn on wire. You must disconect the radios antenna turn on wire and connect the blue wire with a white stripe to the factory amp turn on wire. The problem with the blue antenna turn on wire is that when you are switching from radio to cd the unit is shutting off power on that wire(because it thinks its trying to lower a power antenna) Once the correct blue/white wire is connected the factory amp will stay on wether its am/fm or cd. Hope this helped

Kenwood KVT-512 with bluetooth setup troubles

With my BMW I had to connect both the solid blue (pwr ant) wire and the blue with white stripe (p conn) to the solid blue wire from the factory harness.

It isn't obvious that either of these are needed as the KVT-512 has it's own power supply but the way most factory power amps are installed the power from the KVT-512 is not used and the car manufacturers power amp needs to be turned on.

If you are listening to the radio the pwr ant wire will turn on the power amp, this didn't seem obvious because the BMW doesn't have a power antenna. And when you are using the DVD player or the iPod connection you need the P Conn wire to turn on the car power amp as the ant pwr is disabled because you are no longer using the radio and Kenwood assumes you will not need the antenna so no power to this lead.

Solder all three wires together and you should have sound all the time.

CD player wont come on was doing weird things

You have your accessory wire (red wire) and remote ran together and the yellow (constant wire ran separately in the dash?

You need the red wire to so you can use accessory and to turn off your cd player when your vehicle turns off.

You need the yellow wire to keep all your settings stored. base/treble/time clock

Just a little clarification. Your amp turns on with the remote wire (blue) wire, if that is not hooked up you will get no power to the amp.

Here's the in-dash diagram to your vehicle at the bottom of this pdf.

Do you happen to have an after market wiring harness? These can be bought from walmart for your vehicle. You just take the male end connect the colors together and plug end that goes to your cd player into the female end. Very easy to do.

You could also have one of these fuses out under your hood, that might cause you to lose power to everything.

My amp only powers the subwoofer when the radio is on but wont when the cd player is on

The person(s) who hooked up your system made a boo boo. They wired your remote turn on lead to the power antenna lead instead of the amp turn on line (both are blue and easy to mix up). Thus when your radio is on it sends a signal to the amp and the amp turns on, but when you set to CD the signal goes away and your amp shuts down. Easy fix, just re-wire the amp turn on lead and the problem will be fixed.

Power Amp not working When A CD is playing

Hi Cassiel,

You have it wired wrong. The Power Antenna wire is for antenna only. When you go to something other than Radio, the antanna wire signal to turn retract the antennaor turn off your amp. you need to use the Blue wire coming out of your CD player. The intended function of the Blue is remote turn on when every the radio is turned on. This will keep you amp on as long as your Radio is turned on. Change the wires behind the radio from the Power antenna to Blue Remote wire.
