Please help snowy/ fuzzy picture

What can I check on my tv how do I make sure it is not on HDTV because I only have it hooked to Comcast cable, please help I only have the tv 2 months and all the other tv's hooked to Comcast in my house seem okay what can I check

If you can move the TV to a known good working cable feed and connect it there. if the picture looks normal then most likely you have a bad splitter, a bad fitting or even a bad cable box on that TV.

When you say the TV is FUZZY, do you mean that there is no picture there at all?

It is possible that your grandaughter may have changed the VIDEO INPUT MODE SELECTOR on the TV by accident when she tried to turn it on with the controls on the TV itself.

Most TVs have a button right on the front of the set itself labelled INPUT which allows you to switch between the various input modes. That button should be located right beside the POWER, CHANNEL, and VOLUME buttons on the TV's front panel.

You may simply need to press the INPUT button and select the proper INPUT SOURCE for your Comcast cable box.

The proper INPUT MODE for your particular setup will depend on how your Comcast cable box is connected to your TV. If your cable box is plugged into your TV with an HDMI cable, then make sure your TV INPUT MODE is set to HDMI.

You should have your signal in to your Comcast, then HDMI out to Sat in on your receiver. I haven't looked but I'm guessing you have multiple HDMI in on your receiver, but remember, you only have one HDMI out from receiver which would go to tv. What happens if you hook HDMI directly friom Comcast out to HDTV in.If you still have a delay there must be some sort of adjustment on your tv. When you plug into tv, Is it a default screen you can't change or, can you check say video 1, etc.? How many HDMI inputs do you have on your tv? Let me know through "add a comment"

Hello, I hope this was resolved, but if not, here are some steps to run through. It sounds like the tv that is showing only snow is on an incorrect channel and/or input. The correct channel is different depending on what tv it is that is snowy. If TV2 is snowy where there is no receiver box, that tv needs to be on channel 60 or 73. If TV1 is snowy, where the receiver is, then you will want to make sure that the tv is on either channel 3 or 4, and it usually needs to be on an input as well. Anything ranging from video1 to HDMI3. Also, make sure that you have a blue, green, and yellow light on the front of the receiver box. If none of these steps help, unplug the receiver from the power source for about 10 seconds. My insignia lcd37 is hooking the comcast modem and works at times. Other times the sound is on, but the picture is blank. Is it worth fixing or just start over.

Okay you TV is hooked to a comcast modem? or do you mean My tv is hooked to the comcast converter box? A no picture but sound you want to first check you cables also try hooking up a dvd to the tv and see if that picture comes on if not and you got no pic and sound this would mean the backlight on this tv is dead or you got a bad inverter not converter, inverter inside the tv. Meaning it needs the repairshop but try and hook up a dvd to it and see if you got picture if so you cable box might be the issue call comcast!

New vizio 26'' hdtv seems sharp from a distance, but pixalated and

it is important to understand the difference in digital cable and high def. high definision is on a fiber optic display alwing milions of pixels per square inch on your tv. the resolution effects your fuzzy picture you are recieving . the only real way to fix that fuzzy dull picture is to get a HD box from your cable provider and an HDMI cable to conect it to your HD TV. this is the only connection you will need for picture and top line sound. In the end the fee is usually $9.95 or less a month and it is well worth the difference in quality of TV viewing.

Snowy picture on certain channels and only sometimes

Hello, the best option for you is to put another (small) TV instead of plasma to check whether your cable is OK. If you need more info please advice. Arpi

Snowy Picture

You could have a bad spitter or a fitting could have come loose.First thing to do is to take another TV set right next to the bad TV set and plug in the cable to the other TV set to see if the same issue happens. If it does there is a cable issue. If it does not have a snowy picture, then you should call the store where you purchaced the set for exchange or service. Good Luck
