Hello, I have a question for you. I purchased a ranging 400 rangefinder and no instructions came with it and I was wondering if there is a manual that I am able to download? I know nothing about this machine and I would like to learn how to use it. Thank you for your time. Bowhunter
First, be sure and focus the eyepiece on what you desire to measure distance to. Begin the measurement with the range dial set to minimum. Slowly tury the dial until the grey-blue image and the yellow image overlap each other. Read the measurement. If you suspect it is in error, you can calibrate the 400 or 1000 or 1200 by turning the screw slot within the range dial using an object you know the distance to. If the two images are off in the vertical direction, there's a screw below the range finder to adjust that. Turn it very little. Regarding the model 610, mostly the same except to calibrate it, merely spread the adjustment knob apart (spring loaded) and turn the part of it nearest your eyes so the yardage matches the distance.

If this is a standard optical coincidence rangefinder, then it is very easy to use...you simply look through the eyepiece and you should see two images about like you would in an old camera viewfinder that has manual focus with split images...then you rotate the rangewheel until the two images coincide as perfectly as you can make them...read the number nearest the pointer on the rangewheel. I, too, am looking for an R'matic manual so as to find out how to calibrate this instrument and so far getting less tha no help off the web.

The referenced website does not work. Does anyone have a copy of the manual?
I have the same problem but with a Rangematic 1000. Anyone know how to calibrate and operate this unit?
