Logitech Cam 5000

Hi. I recently purchased a Windows Vista computer with a Quickcam 5000 with out. The driver didnt work, but that wasnt a problem - I downloaded a proper driver of their website. It worked for a few hours. Then I sat down, clicked on Logitech QuickCam, and it said.. "A webcam is not plugged or is not working properly." I plugged it into a different USB, and the Computer made the noise it ussualy does when a Item is plugged in. I checked again, and it still said.. "A webcam is not plugged or is not working properly." I checked on Control Panel, and the computer does say Logitech QuickCam 5000 as a USB device. But it still doesnt come up on the program or on the computer that its plugged in. I've tried everything, but still no different. Please help! Thanks.

There is no specific driver for Windows 7 for that model of web cam. I would recommend trying the Vista driver that can be downloaded from the link below. You have about a 50% chance it will work.

This page seems to have the drivers you're looking for:

Some drivers are packaged as 32 or 64-bit. To find out which architecture of Windows you're using, check out this page: Note that the instructions for Vista are the same for 7.

Quickcam want work

Check for driver updates on the Logitech homepage, make sure that you download the driver for the specific model of your camera. Maybe the old driver is not windows vista compatible.

Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 using Vista

Assuming you installed the Vista driver and not the generic driver in windows, you would also have to set up the sound in the individual IM programmes. If you have installed the driver but accidently let the pc use a generic one, uninstall the camera software and download this driver and install, ensuring that wherever you download it to is where windows looks for the correct driver.,CRID=1794,contentid=11022 If you still have no luck, try using the xp driver that will probably be on the cd rom you got with the cam. Lastly, not all camera makes perform correctly on all makes of pc, it's hit and mis so if the cam does not work under any circumstances, return to the retailer and exchange for a different make.
