LG 50PX4DR 50 in. Plasma TV Logo

Question about LG 50PX4DR 50 in. Plasma TV

1 Answer

Plasma TV I recently (2months ago) bought a plasma 50 inch tv and I have had it freeze screen a couple of times. It has occured again and is frustrating me - The screen freezes after 3 seconds of being turned on however the audio continues to be heard. I have also heard a very loud high pitched PoP from the back of the tv. Can you please help me shed some light on this issue.

If you mean the picture froze or formed fuzzy pixelated picture and crackling, this will be due to a poor aerial signal to the tv, but if you mean the screen rolls with pink/white patchwork type squares and shows the picture in the background, all be it fuzzy, then that's the same fault as I am getting and have had to report the fault to LG as I am on my second TV. If it is the problem mentioned in the first sentence, it is happening to our friends in OS and they have been told by specialist aerial fitters, the signal is too weak for the tv.

Samsung 50 inch plasma tv screen goes blank temporarily

This could be caused by a loss of video signal either from the connection or from the source. The TV may have detected an error which caused the screen to go blank. If this occurs again, check the cable connections and see if having the TV unplugged overnight resets the TV and eliminates the problem.

Samsung Plasma 42" TV - 2006

Hi, this is quite a common problem for plasma screens and LCD screens. The fluroscent backlight is more than likely faulty and would need replacing. The best thing to do is to take it to a service centre because there are no user servicable parts inside the plasma.
