You should either install the driver software that came with the card or insert into your PCMCIA slot on the side of your laptop of which windows will then identify as new hardware, then install the driver.

To set it up, when it is installed, go the your network card in control panel> network connections and right click on your adapter, ensuring it is connected or enabled.
Go down to properties and on the TCP/IP line, highlight it and click properties and ensure enable obtain ip address automatically is ticked.
Depending on your router as long as DHCP is enabled, to automatically assign your laptop an ip address, you should see the liitle pc screens flashing blue in your task bar on the right hand side saying connected and telling you the strength of your connection.
