I Have had this cd player in my car for over a year now and had no problem with it until now. It happened all of a sudden, I had no warning or prior acting up at all. When I turned on my car the moving faceplate was in the closed position and when I hit the Open button to open the mannel to view the time and everything else on the display it won't open, nothing happens when I hit the eject button either. The cd doesn't stop playing or anything when i hit eject. I messed around with the moving faceplate and pulled it into the open position so that I could at lest view the display, but the open and eject button still doesn't move the panel and will not eject the cd. Your help or knowledge of who can fix these things will be greatly appresiated. Thanks
I have the same problem, and all my problem was is that one of the wheels were out of place. You can see these white gears at the bottom left and right. Just stick something in there and push it back in place. It should just snap back in.

I have same problem and think it may be a weak moter but if you open the top of your stereo which is easy on these with front of it facing you there is a wheel to the front right side you can rotate to open face plate then turn it back on it with it open should work for a few days I live in A.Z so it may be a heat problem to do to it seems to screw up more during summer I will never buy Dual again

You may have a broken lead in the ribbon cable that goes between the flip face and the main circuit board. If you do, then you will of course need to replace that flat ribbon cable. A broken lead in the ribbon cable is a very common problem in car radios with a flip face.

Unfortunately this is a common failure in these radios. You can try pressing the small, recessed "reset" button on the front face, but odds are that it won't fix it. It's quick and costs nothing, however, so it's worth a try.

I also have the same problem, the other morning i turned my car on and pressed the open button and nothing happened. I tried reseting it also and that did not work.
I had this same problem, and all I did to fix it is push one of the small gears in the bottom corner back in place. hope it works for you too.
