Phone won't charge

Ok, so my phone seems to have stopped charging completely. I'll plug it in and the charging indicator comes up for a few seconds and then it gives me a "Check Battery" alert and the phone stops charging. I tried charging the phone while it is off and I get the same result. It has gotten to the point where the phone won't even recognize the charge. Needless to say the phone died and I can't get it to indicate that it's charging or even give me the alert again. I'm not sure if it is the actual battery, an issue with my charger, or the software in the phone? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

SOURCE: the phone powers on & when charging, it will

Hello,

I suggest you remove your battery and place it in another similar phone and with your charger to see if i will give the same problem.

If it did not give the same problem, it means the charging port of your phone is bad and will need to be replaced.

But i advice you test each component am going to mention now one after the other because it may also be that any one or both are bad.

Check your charger, try use it to charge another similar phone, if it charges,it means the charger is still good.

Try your battery as well in another phone and if it will charge, if it does, then it is your charging port that is the problem.

Take care.

I put my Droid Razr on charger but battery symbol comes on with ? mark. Won't charge or turn on.

1. Turn off your phone when it's not in use. If you're not using your Verizon Wireless Razr, then shut it off. Your battery will last much longer if you regularly do this.
2. Charge your phone less. If you charge your Razr nightly, then your cell phone battery won't last long. Try to charge your phone only a few times a week to extend the battery life.
3. Keep your Bluetooth turned off when you're not using it. Applications, like Bluetooth, are notorious for sucking the power from a cell phone battery.
4. Protect your Razr from extreme temperatures. Your cell phone battery lasts longer if kept at room temperature.
5. Discharge the Razr fully. Before you charge your phone, let it completely die. You can extend the life of the battery by regularly discharging and then fully charging it.
6. Leave the battery in the phone. Keep the Razr battery dry and free of dirt to prolong its life.

My device won't charge

This situation sometimes occurs when the batteries get overcharged. Use the phone for a day and then attempt to charge. If it still won't charge, remove the battery for about a minute. Then re-install the battery and attempt to charge. If that doesn't clear the problem, you may need to get a new battery.

When charging, the message "check

It may not be. Good call on trying a different charger. Most of the time it's just a bad connection, and you have to hold it or angle it weirdly, so it may have been just the charger. In some cases it's the connection from the phone to the battery that's messed up. Check the hole where the charger connects to and the small metal tabs that touch the batteries metal tabs. Sometimes they may be bent too inward and you have to gently pull them out to allow for a better connection. You might also want to check the battery for any moister (water) damage. Just cause it hasn't even been rained on doesn't mean there won't be any water damage. Every cell phone battery has a small white sticker (some with pink x's). The sticker is ether a circle, square, rectangle, or oval. (Usually there on the same edge as the mettle tabs). The sticker is placed in a small grove that was made for that sticker. If you take off the cover you'll see that your phone has the same type of sticker and grove (they may be different shapes however). If any one of the 2 stickers is pink or red your phone and/or battery is/are considered to be "water damaged". In which case you'll have up to 6 months before it stops working. Usually you start noticing it act funny after 3 months. Of course it all depends on how badly it's damaged. However if you're hella lucky maybe it was only the sticker that got wet (it does happen) and nothing is damaged.

Dear HTC, my phone is not charging properly & not showing any display regarding the charging

replace the battery- sounds like it's completely shot. If it still doesn't try- use a micro usb cable attached to a PC- if it still won't charge/come on- the charge board is gone, and you will likely need to replace the phone

The phone won't take a charge. The red light comes on indicating that it is charging but it doesn't. What's the deal?

Try this.. as it works for me on my GzOne Rock..

Connect to the charger just long enough for the screen to power on, then immediately disconnect the charger before it goes into charging mode. . -- It should power up and be ready for use.in a couple seconds.

I have found that only when the battery gets completely drained, that the Gzone Rock often will not power back up on it's own, even though the battery has been successfully recharged.
By connecting the to the charger it will initiate the boot-up of the phone - but you must remove it before it displays the charging screen again, otherwise it still won't come on and boot.

I don't know why, but this method works for my GzOne Rock every time.
