Pull back the carpet in the passanger foot area. The ECU will be on the floor. Count the flashes a long flash is ten short flash is 1.

So two long flashes and 4 short is 24.

Let me know what the number comes out to.

My Honda Accor 1990 fail the no ppm. Smog tes is too higth

I suspect some check for the O2 sensor, you are either running to rich and the message is actual problem or the sensor is faulty. I would check it @ auto zone for free.

Does a 1987 Honda Accord LX have a check engine light on the dashboard panel?

Check engine light must come on with all other lights. It's called a bulb check. So either the bulb has burned out or the previous owner disconnected it.

Re: 98' Honda Accord V6 with DTC P0442, the smog check tech said, that to repair this problem I would need to find a mechanic that has a smog pump in order to find where the problem is occuring fr

it basicly means you have got an air leak on your inlet manifold or one of the pipes or hoeses going to the inlet manifold or even the manifold gasket.
if you start the car up end listen under the bonnet you may be able to hear and locate the leak

if this helps let me know

I cant find my timing marks for my 1990 honda accord lx because the cover is slightly woren but are the timing marks on the cover or engraved in the metal? this is for the crank shaft.

The 1990-1993 accord timing marks are located in the space between the engine and transmission. There is a rectangular rubber plug, at the top, front of the transmission housing, that pulls out and the timing marks are visible(with a timing light) through that access hole.

I went to go have my 1990 Honda Accord smogged and it didn't pass because the engine was missing a CARB #. How do I get a CARB #?

You would only need a CARB # if you had any aftermarket emission, or air intake system replaced on your vehicle. If you do have an aftermarket air intake or any other emission parts installed, remove them and return the engine to only all original stock parts, and you will not have a problem with needing a CARB #.

If you want to keep the aftermarket parts, you will have to see The California Air Resource Board and let them give you a certification number.

I hope that this information was in any way helpful to you.

Change lightbulb for check engine light

DOES THE SYSTEM GO THROUGH QUICK TEST? I ASK BECAUSE IT IS VERY UNLIKELY THE CEL IS BURNED OUT, NEVER SAW IT EVEN OCE IN 20 YEARS OF DOING SMOGS AND FIXING ITEMS LIKE THE CEL INOP, WAS ALWAYS ANOTHER REASON. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGTH (CEL) IS IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, IT MUST BE REMOVED TO GET ACCESS TO THE BULB TO EITHER REPLACE IT OR FIGURE OUT WHY IT DOESN'T WORK.
