LCD screen has fine pink lines and is changing colors
Hello,
I have a brand new Sony DSC-W70 and recently the LCD screen went pink - it has many fine pink lines across the screen and sometimes they tend to flicker. There is mild clicking sound I can hear to when I move the camera to focus on something else.
please help!
Regards,
shellie
The LCD might have developed a fault.
First try and ensure that the flexible film kind of connector is firmly in place and not damaged.
As a final resort the LCD is to be replaced.
For spares requirement you can write to me.
If it is under warranty pl.try the nearest Sony service center.

Hi there some how your camera LCD pressed by out side & the screen is damages. That's why you get the lines. Specially its come some particular area in the LCD screen. Just the way of resolve is resolve the LCD screen. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.
fixing sony gear is realy pricy, if it could be fixed,,,sony dont keep parts around for long anyhow
you may well find its cheeper to just replace the camera
A multicolor vertical line may display on the camera LCD screen if there is glare on the subject being photographed. Avoid photographing very shiny surfaces that reflect excessive amount of light into the camera lens. Follow the procedure below to resolve this issue:
Record the video or click the still pictures in a different lighting environment.
On the camera, move the FOCUS AUTO/MANUAL switch to AUTO .
Set the PLAY/STILL/MOVIE selector to MOVIE or STILL .
Press the WHITE BALANCE button until the white balance is set to AUTO (no indicator).
Record the video to new media.
NOTE: If the issue is still unresolved after completing all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required.
Hi,
Camera symptoms shows bad CCD Imager in camera and this part needs to be replaced.
Sony has announced free of cost repair scheme for such problem in DSC-T1 models. Please click Sony Support for details.
Thank you.
you will need to send it the sony directly for repairs rather then Precisions Camera in CT since they are only a authorized repair center rather then a direct manc. place.
Please call 1 800 282-2848. Best if you have a proof of purchase to go with it.
You will need to describe what you see on the LCD in more detail in order for me to tell you what the problem is. There are two different issues that can cause things like what you are seeing.
1: Cracked LCD. You will see lines which resemble cracked glass. You will see bright vivid colors with specks of black or stark white all over. The image problems may be only in one portion of the screen. The LCD is made of glass, so if you look closely and see patterns that look like broken glass - this is your issue. Replace the LCD.
2: Bad LCD connection. You will see distorted colors, the screen may blank out and flicker when you shake the camera or press on the housing near the screen.
If neither of these describe what you are seeing, post back and give more details and I will respond further.
