Sounds like you probably should have had a surge protector, Kind of an expensive lesson to learn. 20 or 30 bucks for a couple thousand dollar pay off, but anyway, learn from the mistake and put your computer and stuff on one. Well anyway, most TV's will have a fuse in the main power supply that you can order from allied electronics, or your local radio shack. Hopefully you are lucky and after you replace the fuse the TV comes right back to life, if not, it is an excellent excuse to make a trip to your local best buy. =) Hope this helps, Funnyguyjake

I'm not sure what TV model you have. But, thing I can tell you is the most common problem.
Most of the time with flat panel TVs, the power supply for the screen fails. And the TV normally turns itself off to protect other parts in the TV from being damaged. Basically " Protection Mode".
You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 minutes so the TV can reset itself; then try again turning it on. If it doesn't work after that, it's time for the TV repair shop.

I have a tip/tutorialon this site that may also help. Itgives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It's called: Fixing the Philips Turns/shutsoff on its own problem. Hope this helps and Good luck.Kaufman605
