How to darken black more on a 240 brother printer?

Hi patti,
Did you check the black ink cartrdige ???? To get red, their needs to be black ink involved which will darken the pink and give you red.

Also, make sure the nozzles are clean on the printer's print head. Take a Q-tip and alcohol and clean the printhead on the printer itself. Remove the cartrdige first. Clen the underside of the cartrdige as well.

Don't worry, alcohol won't harm the printheads because it dries instantly.

Sounds like your printheads are clogged. Usually from the printer's software you can clean the nozzles using an option in the Printer driver.

Are you using genuine brother inkjet cartridges for the black and color?

Sorry not can do, not work it made to see all the inks working or not work

If you haven't changed it recently, it may be out of black ink. The product code for Black is LC51BK.

The machine most likely want you to change one (or more) of the other cartridges too. By opening the top cover and reading the display when it is opened, you should get an error indicating which cartridge to change, it most likely isn't the black one it is alarming about, but rather one of the not-changed ones.

i replaced all the ink and my brother mfc 260 still wont print black, or copy black, or test print black

If it is approx 3-4 smudges down the page. Replace the drum cartridge.
