FM Radio won't work on my Sony Xplode XR-C5300X

Before putting my truck in storage for 2 years the cd, cassette player, am/fm radio all worked. Now everything but the fm radio work. I checked to make sure that the antenna was connected and working but still all I get is static from the fm radio. Anyone have any sugestions as to what the problem could be.

The cd changer works fine, but I can't get ANY radio. The antenna is connected securely.

  • Anonymous Apr 09, 2009

I've had the XR-C5300X since May 2000. About two years ago I had problems with the receiver. I get about 15 minutes of radio then the sound cuts down to barely audible. If I turn the volume WAY up then I can hear, but then every now and again the volume would return to normal and blast for about 5 seconds.

SOURCE: No AM or FM yet cd player works

Friend,

Maybe, there is a problem from the detector of you radio function to the amplifier. Try to check on it first or try resoldering from the detector section

SOURCE: Installing a CD player in '08 Aveo in plac eof stock AM/FM radio

You should check with Car Toys or Best Buy but you will probably need an adaptor and a wiring harness. If your doing it yourself your going to need to know how to get the stock radio out and the wiring diagram for the Aveo. Sometimes you can find the wiring diagram on Google by searching for it but usually finding diagrams for 2008 vehicles takes a year or two before it becomes available.

If your CD player has a tuner in it already you shouldn't need one. If it doesn't have one, that presents some other options.

SOURCE: Sony CDX-GT310. Installed by

Called a shop in VA and their opinion was that the tuner section of the unit failed. Cost of the part, $80. Then, labor and shipping. I can buy the new model (GT320) for about $95. I opted for buying a new unit.

Table 1: Radio Features
Table 2: Cassette Features
Table 3: Compact Disc Features
Table 4: XM Advisory Messages
The radio receives power from the RADIO fuse in the junction block-right I/P. Ground is provided via G201 and G202. The radio is enabled/disabled by class 2 messages from the body control module (BCM). The radio routes audio signals from the digital radio receiver or the vehicle communication interface module (VCIM) to the speakers and/or amplifier when directed by class 2 messages.
The Entertainment System on this vehicle is configured with an AM/FM stereo radio with the radio data system (RDS) and either a cassette player or a CD player or both. CD and cassette. The uplevel system provides the customer with extended range speakers and an audio amplifier. Satellite digital radio (U2K) is available with uplevel systems.
The following list shows the radios available for this vehicle:
• Radio (ULO) - AM/FM Stereo, Cassette with RDS
• Radio (UNO) - AM/FM Stereo, CD and RDS
• Radio (UPO) - AM/FM Stereo, Cassette with CD and RDS .The complexity of the radio systems on these vehicle is mind blowing .

Your best bet take it to a GM dealer , has features you are unawear of .
DTC B1025, B1035, B1045, or B1055
When the radio is powered up, the radio supplies low level audio signals to the speakers. If the vehicle is equipped with an audio amplifier, the amplifier will boost the signal sent to the speakers.
DTC B1025 Audio Output Circuit
Install a scan tool.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
With the scan tool, monitor the DTC Information for DTC B1025.
Does the scan tool indicate that DTC B1025 is current?

Trying to install Roady 2

If the Roady2 has a fm modulator built in, you can go to the menu and set the fm frequency. If it doesn't, you could use a fm transmitter that they have for mp3 players to listen to in the car

Sony xplode cd player sub problems

Switch your blue wires around.

You have put the remote antenna wire to the remote turn on of the amplifier. The radio cuts off the power to the "power antenna" when you switch to a different mode... so your amplifier is now losing the turn on signal it requires to stay on.

Simple 2 minute fix.

Thanks for using FixYa - a FixYa rating is appreciated!!
