Lost connectivity after power outage

If this is a printer WITHOUT WiFi or bluetooth - and you have it connected to another computer (Print Server) via a USB cable - you need to make sure you can see that computer from the other computer you are printing from. Use the network explorer - if you can see the computer and the printer you should be able to print to it.

Sometimes, it may be secured with a password. I found if I can map a shared drive from my laptop to my print server then I can print again. So see if you can see the printer and printer server computer from the other computer. If so you may need to add that printer again to you printer list.

I moved my printer from one room into another and now it won't print. I checked and doubt checked the connections and every thing seems okay in the respect. Any answers It does print somethings but not...

it is possible that if you have moved it to another room, you have connected it to another computer as well. and that computer has no installed driver/software for that printer. make sure to download the right driver for your printer at the manufacturer's website and install it on that computer before you connect the printer to it.

Connection printer

Check all of your connections. This printer is sometimes sent out with out the USB connection....you may be missing that, you will need to buy one....take the cord you do have with you to a store (WalMart carries this, I think), to make sure you get the right one.

After installing everything, start or restart your computer, and it should "see" the printer, and turn on the printer and set your setting and do a test print....make sure you have removed the plastic tape from the cartridges before inserting for printing.

Can't print from my local printer with Remote Desktop

Try the following :

1. Go to Printers and Faxes
Right click on the printer u are using. Select Share this printer.

2. Set up a home or small office network with Internet connection connected, Printers on on both computers and identify both of them saperately.
For this you need to connect both computers with a cross cable.

3. after the home or small office setup is complete add a new printer from your Printer and Faxes menu. Search your printer automatically and choose it from the llist system provides and select the printer as default if needed.

4. Try taking a 'Test Printout' from the Concerned printer's properties page.

5. if this works, you have successfully installed the printer and are ready to take prints.

Printer sharing

This is assuming you are using Windows XP.
On the PC that will print to them, go to Printers and Faxes, open the window with them, right click and choose Sharing and Security
Click on the tab that says Sharing, and click the dot in "Share this printer"
Give it a simple name (like Laser1 or Inkjet1)
Click OK, and close the window.

On the other computers that you want to print to it, open My Network Places, Entire network, MS Windows network, <your workgroups name> **it works best if all of the computers in your network are part of the same workgroup**, look for the computer that is hosting the printers, double click it.
You will see the sharde printer name below the computer, right click on the printer and choose "Connect" say yes to the question that comes up about the connection security. When the flashlight goes out, you're connected.

Remember, for it to be a print server, that PC must be on.

Printer not connected to computer

I don't think these do LPT printing but if it is, ensure you are using a bidirectional cable.

Otherwise, check the USB cable, and if you do reinstall; be sure that you didn't just put the printer back in the same USB port it was originally in or worse, leave the printer attached the whole time. Windows XP especially keeps driver files and settings specific to a particular USB device associated with USB port information in the registry, you may be putting whatever setting was messed up right back in.

HP C1480

Please perform the below steps to clear the queue and print from the computer.

Before performing the below steps try to make a copy from the all-in-one to check the hardware functionality.

Remove the USB cable from the computer.

Now click on start --> control panel --> printers and faxes --> right click on the HP C4100 printer icon and delete all the pending documents.

Now again click on start --> run --> type services.msc and press enter --> locate print spooler in services window and right click on the print spooler and click on refresh or stop the spooler service and then restart the spooler.

Now open the printers and faxes folder, right click on the printer icon --> properties --> advanced tab --> enable print directly to printer and click OK.

Now connect the USB cable back to the computer and then try to print from the notepad and check for the result.

MY HP PSC 1315 ALL IN ONE PRINTER

First try and print a test page from the printer .... if its an Hp printer the following link should help http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/gener... make sure that the printer test page prints fine. Now if the printer is connected through a USB cable, try and disconnect the cable from both ends ( from the back of the computer and from the back of the printer ) plug it back in. you might get a Found new Hardware popup at the right hand side bottom cornner, if you do then wait for 2 or 3 minutes. It might ask you to inser the installtion cd, so please do so. That should work for you. Try a different usb port from the back of your computer. If it still doesn't work, go to the printers and faxes folder under the control panel and still the printer icon is showing offline, right click on the printer icon click on cancel all documents and then again right click on the printer icon and delete the printer icon. insert the printer installtion cd and it will automatically install all the printer drivers automatically. I got this resolution from *** , those people are excellent.
