Hi ! I am trying my HP pavilion laptop to Philips LCD 42PFL7422 via HDMI cable and immediatly my PC states that it has probolem and restarts.
I connected my laptop with the same cable to another LCD it works.
Pls suggest what might be the problem with my Philips LCD tv
Hello, I'm from the Netherlands and I had the exact same problem with my philips lcd...
So what I did, was upgrading the software of my videocard (nvidia.com),this resolved my problem of giving a error on my laptop and restarting.
Then I got the message on my tv: "video not supported' , this I don't know exactly how i resolved this, but i tried fn+f4 a couple times. If that doesn't work you have to do something with the nvidia control panel (right click on desktop).
So now i had picture, but no sound.
To enable sound from your laptop to your tv you have to go to control panel>sound> set the SPDIF to your standard sounddevice and tick the box with wma audio something, tick out the other boxes.
I hope this will resolve some of your problems and others who have the same problem.
greetings,
Sam

I am having the same issue when I connect my HPdv9930us to an LCD television. I have spent hours on the phone with HP but there has been no resolution. They recommend sending the laptop in for service and they will reformat the hard drive and diagnose the problem. What a pain. Anyone have a solution?
Where do you connect HDMI cable on PC?
Do you have a HDMI port on your PC?
