Our new dishwasher, model GU2455, serial # FU0706791 takes 2 and a half hours to complete a wash cycle. Can this be normal? It's ridiculusly long!!!
Any help will be appreciated.

Re:
Sounds like a long time. sounds like it will wear out your dishes before it ever cleans them. check the manual for cycle times. could be a bad logic board, too. this happens most often when units are new. talk to the service center for the unit since its new. they will be able to get right to the problem or send a repairman under warranty. new units do fail. good luck mark

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. This is normal for new dishwashers to run this long. Heavy duty cycles with options selected can run well over two hours. Your machine is ok..This is our number one service call for new dishwashers. One hour to an hour and a half if average.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..
Make sure that the water inlet pressure is good and there is no restriction ,
Now it is normal that the wash cycle is long as the dishes are put into and set to be done overnight.
But it will be good to clarify if the ECO wash takes so long as 31/2 hours, which could be fine with a high level wash.
Call LG Dealer to confirm as the set is new.
THAT IS NOT NORMAL!!!!!!! A normal wash and dry cycle will take approx. 2 hours in length including drying cycle.
You should see that water has been present in the machine within the first 2 minutes of the start of the wash cycle, you should also be able to hear the water entering the wash tub.
The fill valve or water supply seems to be the issue, if the water doesn't enter the tub then the controller won't proceed witht the wash cycle. Double check your water supply tube / hose to make sure there is water present at the connection to the dishwasher.
GOOD LUCK !
Hello there If your dishwasher's cycle times are too long,
check these:Water
pre-heatingCycle
not completingWater pre-heatingYour dishwasher may pre-heat the water. If so, and
if the water entering the dishwasher is cool, the heater may take up to
half an hour to heat the water. To avoid the wait, increase the incoming water
temperature before turning on the dishwasher. Do that by running the
kitchen sink faucet until the water runs hot. Or increase the
temperature of the hot water to the entire house at the hot water
heater.Warning! To lessen the risk of scalding, don't set
the hot water heater temperature higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Make sure the sani cycle is not selected, or pots and pans, also with the dry cycle most will take about 2 hours, if your dishes are not that dirty use the short cycle. Be sure your water is at least 130 F. Run hot water at faucet before starting the machine.
momrules, it could vary depending on the water entering the dishwasher. On a heavy cycle normal time is about 85 minutes not including thermal holds ( pauses that heat the water). On a normal wash, 68 to 75 minutes not including thermal holds. If the water entering the dishwasher is not at least 120 to 140 degrees the dishwasher will pause in cycles to heat the water before advancing. So 120 minutes is not unrealistic. The heaters in the dishwasher are low wattage and will only heat the water approx. 2 degrees every 5 minutes. Catriver.
