Help!! Plus, My LCD is so dark I can't read anything. How to turn brightness up? I have tried almost every thing from taking out the cmos battery to trying to boot from DVD with password cleaner software
Normally on a dell u have to have the power charger plugged in and hold the fn key bottom left and use the arrow keys to make it brighter. however it could be your screen or inverter that maybe faulty. the link below charges 60 pounds for inverter fix which contols the brightness and 100 pounds if it is the screen.
now for the bios password the only way you will be able to remove this is the strip the system down and remove the cmos battery for few mins with no power and put back this should reset it again the company can help you with this if needed. laptop repair london computer repair service no fix no fee

If you can get to the CMOS battery, there should be a set of jumpers close by that should say Clear CMOS or CMOS reset, or something to that effect. There are usually 3 pins, and the jumper is between 2 of them. Remove the jumper and put back over the pin that was open, and the pin next to it that was jumped before. Leave it for a few seconds, then put back to original position. This should clear the bios, and all you in.

Good luck, and please rate me, OK?
SOURCE: where is the location of cmos battery on dell 2650.
pulling the battery will not help it is hard coded in CMOS you need to send it in or take it to a service center that can re flash it for you i do not suggest you re flash BIOS on your own because that could cause a bigger problem
SOURCE: Boot password
Hi,
there are two ways I normally use to reset the password
1. The simplest, turn off the laptop, then turn it back on and tap away on the "F8" key until the safe mode boot screen comes up. Once it's up select "Safe Mode" using the arrow keys then hit enter and wait for the login screen. If you're lucky the Administrator account will show up and will either have no password or just the word password as they tend to be blank or simple from the factory. Once you login as admin just go to your control panel, select classic view and go to the users icon. as the admin you can select to reset the password on any user account. Once you have reset your password, restart the laptop and away you go.
2. If you don't have an admin account or if it has a strong password, use another machine with a cd burner to search google for windows password reset disk, look for the free linux one(there are good paid ones but I find the free linux one eaiser to use in most cases). once you find it be sure to download both the .ISO(disk image) and the walkthrough. Read the walkthrough as you download and burn the CD. There are a couple lentghy points which are crucial.
This disk will allow you to reset the password on any NT based system(2000/XP/Vista)
Be warned though not folloing the walkthrough can cause your efforts to fail at best or ruin the windows install at worst so PLEASE read it and follow step by step.

SOURCE: How do I remove forgotten BIOS password?
1) You can reset BIOS to default settings by pressing <Alt><F>
2) I am not sure about the laptops, but in the Dell Desktops usually there is a reset jumper on the motherboard which is seated on 2pins out of 3, you just need to remove that jumper turn on the pc once and the turn on the pc again by reseating the jumper to its original place. You can try this with your laptop, I guess the jumper should be somewhere close to the CMOS battery.
3) Remove the battery and keep it away for atleast 30 mins. and replace it again.
NOTE: make sure while following step (3) and (4) the system should be completely turned off. Unplug the AC adapter, remove the battery and hold the power button for atleast 8 - 10 seconds.
let me know the output
