I recently bought a new dc adapter for my camera and i didn't realize that best buy sold me the wrong piece. the adapter has multiple settings including 4.5 and 5.0 all the way up to 9.0 and has 5 different connection pieces. i thought the 4.5 was fitting in the camera but the camera needs a 4.8. the camera charged with it once over night and then the next time i tried to charge the camera the screen just turned BRIGHT WHITE. stupid mistake, i know but i just assumed that it was right because it charged the camera. is it permanently fryed or will it work if i find a better suited charger. i should of returned the piece but i lost my reciept ofcourse.

I know sounds stupid but, I had this problem with my laptop. For months I could not get it charged. My husband finally tested our outlet plug and realized it was no longer getting electrical power or not enough to charge since the light turned on to show charging I didn't think anything of it. Happened to be the outlet. Try another and see. Couldn't hurt right... Best of luck !
Same with my SVP DC-12V Bought a new battery, same problem, bought a new charger, same problem.
I guess now I'm regretfully going to agree with the majority of
SVP camera owners and say that they are pieces of **** !
Jeff, you didn't verify the type of battery that you have on your camera, is that the KLIC-5000? if yes then still it will not charged on your dock try to charged your camera using the 5V AC adapter. If your camera will not turn on using the 5V AC adapter or will not turn on using your dock it means the camera is defective and not your battery or charger. You can still contact Kodak repair center at 1 800 665 6515 they will handle your issue.
Before trying the new battery, try cleaning the battery compartment contacts with a cotton swab dampened, not drenched, in rubbing alcohol. Blow dry the compartment and then try the new battery. Thanks, Dana
The AC adapter is only used as an alternate power source for the camera. It is not intended to charge the battery for the camera in any way. In order to charge the camera's lithium battery you will need the charger that is designed for that battery.
