are they horizontal or diagonal? if they are diagonal it could be you're brightness is turned up too high. try turning it down.

Sounds like your Horizontal Output Circuit is leaking current causing diagonal lines across the screen. I hope this will help and thank you for using FixYa!

There is a component failure on the board inside the display. Since you did not post the model number that is all that I can tell you.

It is possible that the electron-gun inside of the CRT is having an intermittant short. It is also possible that there is an intermitttant failure in the bias or drive circuits for the CRT electron-gun.

The TV service tech would have to run some tests to determine the actual fault, and then the failed components.

If the CRT is at fault, the set will not be worth to service.

replace the scaler board and LVDS cable

try turning down screen controls. turn up until you see the lines and then back off until they dissappear...easy as that! john
