Flashing orange light

Of the 4 display lights at left front of the keyboard of my Dell Inspiron B120, the third light from the left is frequently flashing orange (the other lights are green). Laptop seems to be functioning normally.

As far as I think it has something to do with the battery. I've always left my laptop with the Ac Power and just recently the same problem started happening to me. And since I don't have the money or any real desire to fix this laptop all I've done is just unplug the cord and re-plug it back in and just keep repeating the process.

Obviously it isn't the right thing to do. :P

Can't get the plug to stay in the back so it will stay connected to AC power. IF you wiggle it just right and push around on the back it will charge and not turn off.

Dell Inspiron 1300 Of front left four lights, the third is flashing red

I believe that is the battery light indicator saying that the battery is depleted. If you've attempted to recharge the laptop, I'd put my money on a bad AC Adapter. Try a different AC Adapter. Dell laptops are very picky, so I'd recommend acquiring a Dell-brand adapter to ensure it will charge your battery.

Having read what others are saying it seems to be a very common problem with this laptop, you can try to ignore it or run your laptop direct from the mains WITHOUT the battery plugged in.
Good luck

Battery light flashes 4times orange then 1green

We had the same problem. I figured out it was NOT the main battery, but the auxilary battery. The batter life WITH the auxiliary was 68% total, when I removed the 2nd battery the battery life shot back up to 98% AND the flashing orange / red lights were gone (both on the power source and off). I then replaced the auxiliary battery with a spar back up to make SURE that it was not a fluke and with the new backup battery firmly in place the lights still did not flash. Problem solved.

Dell Inspiron B120 won't power on

Hi
I would check the RAM in the laptop and see if it is not seated properly. You should have 2 areas that hold #1 RAM Chip
One under the keyboard and one on the bottom. I had a Dell Latitude D620 and the ram was not seated properly and I received the same error.
I hope this helps
