First I would get CCleaner. It's totally FREE and you can clean off a ton of junk files in a single click and it's super easy to use. You can also use it to optimise your startup programs that are loading. You can get it here:
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5125

After that Update your Adobe flash player software to the latest version:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Now Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756
When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:
http://majorgeeks.com/Kaspersky_TDSSKiller_d6895.html

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs.

2005 Cadillac Deville revving to 4000 rpm and not shifting

Problems with speed sensor for transmission. Computer uses a speed signal to shift transmission through the gears. Without speed input, the computer doesn't know when to shift the transmission. Either the speed sensor is bad or wiring from the ECM to the speed sensor is bad. Usually 2 wires lead to the sensor. The sensor generates a AC voltage signal with higher speeds generating more voltage and frequency. The ECM (computer), looks at the signal to see how fast the vehicle is traveling.

How to increase the speed and efficiency of your laptop

INSTRUCTIONAL: STEPs

The first step is to run a disk defrag on your system. What a disk defragmenter does is increase the speed in which you can access information. Whenever your computer processes information it needs to jump from place to place and this takes time. Defragging your system allows your computer to stream information through one path. This will speed up laptop computers ability to access and run different programs.
The second step is to eliminate as many unnecessary startup programs as possible. Anytime you install a new program it will try to automatically start itself every time you power your computer on. This will dramatically slow down the speed your computer can start up or shutdown. These programs also eat up valuable RAM which causes the computer to be very sluggish. Eliminate all but the necessary programs and feel the incredible difference in your laptop processor speed.
The third step is to clean up registry congestion. This is without question the most important step you can take to speed up your laptop. As we download new or remove old programs our registries get congested with useless and redundant files. This clogs everything up and leaves you asking why is my computer slow? Getting rid of those unnecessary files will not only speed up your computer but prevent it from crashing in the future.
These are three steps you can do right now to get your computer running like it did out of the box. If you are a computer novice and want a program to do the work for you I highly recommend visiting the link below. Instead of spending hundreds on new upgrades or thousands on a new laptop, why not just optimize your computer to reach it's peak performance for a fraction of the cost? Give it a try.

Under Windows XP, click Start
Click with the SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse-button on "My Computer".
Click Properties.
The first screen will run a short "speed-test" to determine your "actual" CPU-speed, and to display the "rated" CPU-speed, e.g., 3000 MHz running at 2.99 Ghz.

2000 sonata check engine lite came on, transmission went to 2 nd gear. computer said idler control valv bad.put in new, reset computer, drove 100 yds. check eng lite 2nd gear again, now computer said speed...

The output speed sensor is located on top of the transmission output shaft, this will send speed value to the transmission control module (TCM).
The vehicle speed sensor is installed on the differential of the transmission, and sends speed value to speed gauge on instrument cluster.

Check also IAC valve and look for vacuum leaks using an hand tool gauge(Vacuum Gauge and Fuel Pump Pressure).

How do i increase the speed for pentium(R)4cpu 3.00ghz

you can increase your speed of your processor installed in your computer by adding more memory that your computer or motherboard and processor can support. Sometimes even you have a high speed processor but it needs to have a high speed size of memory also in order cater more processing transactions in your computer. The memory function as the temporary storage of your current program or application you load in your syustem or you run in your computer. So the more memory size you have the more program or application you can load and the more program can be loaded in your memory it can help your computer fast or process more processing transactions in the computer system. So if you want to make your computer fast you have to install a high speed processor at the same time a large and fast memory.
Hope this will help you answer your problem. Thanks

Hi there.
The computer is probably struggling with the clock speed of the new processor.
Did you reset the BIOS setting?
If you didn't go into the BIOS and set it to default settings, hit F10, save the changes and restart the computer.
Clock speeds should now be reset and the computer should work. Also you should make sure the system memory is seated properly.

Good luck

Split speeds on modem

I have never seen a router split speed evenly for the number of computers plugged in. Typically all bandwidth is available to any one computer using the service and it becomes proportianlly less as others start using it. Just because four computers are plugged in doesn't mean each will get 1/4th the total speed, it all depends on what they are doing. Perhaps you have a problem with your wireless connection itself since your first speedtest was using a cabled ethernet connection. Check to make sure you have a strong signal and that windows is reporting a good speed (11mbps, 54mbps, etc). If the signal is real low then speed can drop to below 1mbps. Finally, are you conducting the exact same test each time (like www.speedtest.net). A file download from a site isn't the best test of speed since it can vary drastically as others users hit the site.
