SOURCE: How can I determine if my husqvarna magneto is working?

Remove spark plug from the engine, reconnect it to the plug cap cable which come from the bobin.

Find a piece of steel wire jumper, atleast a foot. Make a jump from the metal body of the plug to the chassis of the engine.

Safety issue: Place the plug away from the spark plug's hole on top of the engine to avoid gas ignite.

Set the trimmer on the floor, set the gap of the spark where visibility while you pull the string.

Pull the start string and the arc could be seen right on the plug gap. Consider an Arc Purple or Blue coloration are good.

If the arc has not been seen, the Magneto need to be serviced.

How do i replace the spark plug wire.

Usually the spark plug wire is molded into the magneto case at the magneto end and you have to replace the whole magneto.

What is the air gap for my magneto on my 25cc homelite weeater?

Should be around .013 to .014. turn flywheel until magnets face magneto insert your feeler gauge and loosen magneto screws...let the magneto stick to the feeler gauge and the magnets... re-tighten the screws, remove feeler gauge, and you should be set...hope this helps. ;-D

I have a 2 cycle weed eater 31cc couple years old with no spark??

Hmmm.....This tells me that your magneto has gone bad. take apart the outer plastic casing of the trimmer and follow the spark plug cap back to where it ends. (Not far away) This piece of plastic looking thing pressed up against the flywheel (A Round wheel with several fins sticking up on it) is called the magneto undo the screws that hold it in place and install the new magneto. Make sure before you undo these screws that know where the wires that are attatched go. They are for the kill-switch, (The switch that turns off the engine) and are either attached to the magneto with the screws that hold it in, or are attached to these tiny flat metal pins with and unknown name. Hope this solves your problem, and good luck!

Weak spark on an Echo GT 1000 trimmer

Recomended spark is 6mm or more if there is no play in the crank bearings you can try closing the magneto air gap to 8 thou if that does not work you will need a new ignition module.
