protection was coming on as soon as it was switched on, i thought it was a dodgy Disk so opened up and removed, but fault still apparent.

I have the same problem. I concur with all other posts, very annoying. I take it this is a common problem with the SD-43HTS. Has Toshiba done anything regarding this problem?

You will need to get a service manual and trouble shoot what amp. circuit is defective. if you have no solid state printed circuit board experience, you really should take this unit in to a repair shop and have it estimated. There is no quick fix for this unit. Good Luck.

Sounds like your soft switch, in the set, has failed you will need to have this replaced.

Usb flash drive will not load jpeg images

What kind of flash drive is it? Is there a protection switch on the device so that it will prevent accidentally deletion of files? Like a tiny switch that can move up and down that says "lock" or "unlock"?
Does your computer give an error warning window? Is the drive already full and therefore cannot hold more files?

It depend on the flash drive.
First, the easier, check if there is a tiny switch in your flash drive. You can easily change the switch position.
Second, if no switch, it means you have "error" problem with the drive. You can download the software in the producer's website, or you can contact the producer and they might give you the link to download it.
Third, if no software offered by the producer, then you have quite big problem. Many have this problem if they unplug the driver unsafely. One possibility to remove the write protection is going to the "Regedit" and change the value of :

go to ‘WriteProtect’ and change the ‘Value Data’ to ‘0’
