Bissel Proheat 7901 Diverter Knob and Flap problem--Helpppp!
We have had our carpet cleaner for about 2 years and this is the first problem. The diverter flap had broken away from the diverter knob and settings would not change, water would not divert from tools to floor. I took the unit apart and found this problem and ordered the knob and flap. Welll, now I can't figure out how to put it back together. I was trying to avoid taking it somewhere--can anyone help? I feel like if I know how the parts work and fit together, the rest would be a breeze. Thanks for any help.
All good - 34.95 and a better knowledge of the inside has to be better than getting a new one and sticking the old one in a landfill. Thanks for posting the feedback - if you managed to see how then please post a little description of how the problem was solved in case it could help someone else.

You will have to pull the top cover off, it fits underneath unto the knob. When you see the bottom, you should be able to tell. The arm of the diverter goes thru the hole and then hooks onto the bottom of the knob.
