Yamaha P4500 Power Amplifier 2-Channel Bridge mode

Hi Can you tell me if this amp will run in bridge mode at 4Ohms or will it only support 8Ohms loads whilst in bridged mode. I know it will support loads of 4 Ohms in stero mode but I would like to run a single sub woofer rated at 4 Ohms in bridged mode, giving me the full power from the system. Thanks in advance Mike Hackett

Im from Yamaha service before and i know this model can handle as low as 2ohms per channel. I have to check on my manuals though if bridged. i dont see any reason why it cant. and it has a bridge option input stage... let me get back to you again in the days to come.

or email me [email protected]

i have a service manual to check on this. got to dig on my closets..

Hi I don´t speak a good English, but I think what the first is use the link of NOGGIN give you and wiew all specification of you amplifier, and when you are sure conect the woofer, So I think what the conection of that woofer (YES) is posible in Bridge mode is important the Value in Watts ofered by the woofer and the power output ofered in Bridge mode by the power amplifier don´t loose of your mind that!!

Here is the link for the manual if you need this; http://www.americanmusical.com/manuals/yamaha/pseries_manual.pdf Page 4 of the manual (page 6 pdf) says no. 8 Ohms only in bridge mode. I think the way you could do this is to try parallel mode with the woofer on one of the outputs - not going to give you the best channel separation, but should handle it. Hope this helps :)
