Oh, lord....Urgent, no...SUPER Urgent help desperately needed!!!

Okay, so I'm here at the house, washing clothes in the washer, and I finish this load, and put the pillows on for one more spin on max speed, because they're not dry yet, right? And now the stupid thing won't agitate! I've already tried: Rotating the drum. Usually, it turns on in response, not this time...(Belt broke?) Unplugging power. Only for like 5 seconds, cause the little *POP* noises from outlets scare me... I am soooo going to be busted....:'(

OH, wait! Yes, it turns on when the drum is spun by hand... I'll try spin cycle on lowest setting, and reply...once again...Haha..

I rotated it, started spin cycle, and it spun! YESYES...

Hi, Sounds to me that the motor brushes might need replacing if the problem persists. Tom.

I will tell you what happened to me. One day my water valve quit. On that veryday my sister in law paid her weekly visit to wash her and my BIL's clothes. She bypasses 5 laundry matts to get here. I tell my wife we should not have a $75 water bill. So the water would not fill in the washer. I told her to get a 5 gallon bucket and fill it up then see how many buckets it took to fill the washer. 7 buckets later the washer kicked in and started doing it's thang. 35 gallons of water to wash a full load on highest level. Then 7 more buckets to do the rinse. 70 gallons of water to wash one load of clothes. I figured I had her cured from coming over every saturday just to wash clothes. But she found out I fixed it. LOL She has a washer and dryer at her house but IF she goes overs a certain amount she uses then the trailer park charges her extra for water. Soo she comes ta my house. Sweet.

LAUNDRY SMELLS BAD

take out powder compartment its more likely its gone all black....also in side of the machine... get white vinager clean all inside and powder capartment .... put 2 ltrs of white vinager in drum place powder unit back were it should be..... turn machine on with no cloths in on full heat wash (boil wash)....wash through again with powder when finished ....twis before putting any cloths in ..there you have it ...oh check pump filter befor all this :)

as with basic spin faults -a number of reasons usually 1 motor brushes, 2 motor 3 motor control pcb or the obvious one - the belt has come off.

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE OUTER BAND TO HOLD ON THE DOOR BOOT/SEAL. WHAT I HAVE SEEN IS THAT AN ARTICLE OF CLOTHES WAS NOT ALL THE WAY INTO THE WASHER AND IT WAS STARTED, PULLING THE DOOR BOOT INTO THE WASHER. THE ONLY OTHER THING I HAVE NOTICED WITH THIS NEW BREED OF SUPER CAPACITY WASHERS IS THAT THEY LIKE BIGGER LOADS TO HELP BALANCE THEMSELVES. IT MAY BE POSSIBLE THAT IT WAS SO SEVERLY OUT OF BALANCE THAT IT PULLED THE BOOT INTO THE TUB AS THE MAYTAGS OF THAT MODEL LINE WERE KNOWN TO NOT BE THE MOST SENSITIVE TO OUT OF BALANCE CONDITIONS. THERE IS A CONTROL BOARD KIT THAT COMES WITH A MOTION SENSOR NOW FOR THEM AS AN UPGRADE.

Kenmore Super Capacity Washer - Mildew smell

run the washer, with no clothes,
and 2 cups of bleach instead of detergent.
kills any mould in the washer
at least until you find the original cause, it wont stink

Won't turn back on and finish cycle

Press "end of cycle" for over 3 seconds, & wait for 2 minutes to open door. You can then re-start the wash. It is possible you cld hv damaged fhe door switch. For front loaders you do not open the door during a wash, never. Less problems.
