Analog input Hey there i just brought a JVC GZ-MG27, i read up about it and i got the impression you could record old VCR tapes and turn them into a digital format that could then be burnt to DVD. So far i have not been able to find this option, Any suggestions. Cheers

Here is the link to the user manual if you need it; http://books.jvcservice.com/download/1071186832/LYT1533-001D.pdf The camera is not designed to have this option, check page 11 there is no A/V input possible to the camera, only output. The easiest way to digitise VCR tapes is to use a video capture card/device attached to your PC - on the next link is a good discussion of the process and a couple of examples of the equipment required, there are many others also; http://dvr.about.com/od/tvcapturemethods/ht/ht1.htm Hope this helps :)

How do I get the DVD to record what is on the VHS tape not the TV?

You can record from an external component, such as a camcorder or VCR, connected to any of the Recorder's external inputs.
1. Make sure that the component you want to record from is connected properly to the Recorder. See page 14.

2. Press AUX repeatedly to select the external input to record from.
• AV1: Audio/Video Input mounted on back panel.
• AV2: Audio/Video Input mounted on front panel.
• DV: DV Input mounted on front panel.

page 37 from manual:
http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/01/15/LVT2016-001B.pdf

If this fails, try to disconnect the tv input cable and connect the vcr cable.

How do I connect my Sansui 6010B VCR with an analog TV and a DTV tuner?

two ways of connecting VCR with Analog TV with DTV tuner.
DTV tuner (RF) output to VCR (RF) input,VCR (RF) output to analog TV (RF) input.
turn DTV tuner on (VCR should have a TV\VCR switch that makes signal coming from tuner BYPASS VHS right into TV) note:: change channel FROM tuner. You should be able to record by placing a blank tape and pressing RECORD.
2ND. DTV tuner, VCR, should have a RCA in\out connections...Audio & video. You need a RF\RCA bypass switch. It has a INput with RCA connections to a RF signal out that goes to the RF Input of analog TV

Digital camcorder to convert VHS tape to PC for DVD burn

You can't with what you've got I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in order to play tapes in a vcr and run them through a digital camcorder for output to a computer, the camcorder must have s-video or av inputs. Your camera only has s-video or av outputs, used for sending from the camera to the vcr or tv. Also, some cameras have the inputs but don't support analog to digital pass-through (which is what you are describing). With these cameras you input from the vcr and record it to the tape in the camera, and then output it to the computer. Without the inputs, you can't do either one.
